Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced the DVD and Blu-ray releases of AVP2: Requiem for the 12th of May, priced at around £22.99 and £27.99 respectively. Both versions reportedly feature an extended cut of the film with additional gore, but having examined the Blu-ray this does not appear to be the case. We're trying to obtain clarification from Fox at the moment, but in the meantime full specs for the Blu-ray release can be found below, and you can expect the DVD version to be very similar.

I haven't seen this yet but judging from the negative reviews and comments, plus the significant decrease in box office takings we won't be seeing another AVP instalment.

I still cannot believe after 21 years since Predator was released we still only have 1 decent film, and 3 turds. I find it odd there never was a Predator 3.

Yeah I also haven't seen this, will wait 'til it's on Sky Movies or some s**t. I believe someone out there can generate some concept for a decent predator sequel, prequel even. But this hybrid s**t needs to end for christ's sake.
Sucked. Felt like a cheap 80's horror movie... Some folks might like it, more gory than the first, not set in an pyramid under earth... but still sucked...

I quite enjoyed the film - despite the standard dull human/teen characters. If you like monster/Godzilla type movies - then this is quite enjoyable in a very dumb way !
I prefer the first AvP film. My main disappointment was with the Predalien (no real threat compared with the Alien Queen) and the end fight outcome being identical to the first AvP.

Please don't put tags like "Too extreme for cinemas" on it. First of all it gets a 15, not extreme enough to get an 18. Second the BBFC is more liberal over what gets shown in the cinema to what gets put out for home release.

pure junk. Can noone make a good Alien / Predator film anymore? Mr.Scott and Mr.Cameron did it right, Mr.McTiernan got Predator right. Not since 1987 has someone done one of these monsters justice; So sad.
This Blu Ray cover is miles better then the US release.

Its all about expectations... I went into Cloverfield expecting it to be great and came away dissappointed. I went into this expecting it to suck and was mildly surprised that it wasn't all that bad. Some of the action stuff was good and I like the references to the other movies.
My Region A Blu Ray arrived this morning so should be able to check this out tonight... I hear the Pic and Sound quality are very special...
By the way... what ever happened to the Blu Ray exclusive Aliens vs Predators VS You game that was supposed to be on this disc?!?

Ya, I stand correct. For all it's flaws, Alien 3 wasn't bad considering the hell they put fincher throught to get that movie made. It's no Aliens, but it's not Alien 4 bad either. You know, it's funny. I have the alien movie box set with the extended alien 3 in it, yet havent watched it yet. I guess I know what I'm doing this weekend =-)

To be honest I did enjoy this, I'm just a franchise freak! In fairness its far from being on the same level of the first three Aliens and the first Predator but if you tkae it for what it is - a bit of mindless comic book entertainment then you will have fun!
Not sure if an AvP3 is a good idea though, Fox should commit to a Predator 3 instead with a decent writer and director.

Does the Blu-ray (or the DVDs) contain both the theatrical and "extended" cuts of the movie? Also, what are the deleted scenes?
I like the standard edition cover, despite the stu-f**king-pendous "combat" slogan, but the Blu Ray cover is just awful & borderline DTV standards. Also, why does the BD version have "Aliens vs Predator' underneath the AVP, like consumers won't get it?!? Either way, both covers suffer from ridiculous ovular distractions that I only hope are removable stickers.

Can anyone remember if you actually saw the chest-burster coming out of the kid? I don't remember it, but it's on the BD. Apart from that there's not a lot else that stands out. It's 94 minutes, so I don't think it is extended after all.
I truly hope that the information about the unrated version on the UK BD is correct. I veryfied with FOX Germany why we in Germany are not getting the Uncut Version but UK does and they said that the UK information is incorrect. According to FOX Germany it'll be the theatrical cut only on the UK BD with the unrated scenes as deleted scenes only. They won't be integrated nto the movie. I really hope FOX Germany is telling bull otherwise this of course will be a no go for me.
