It was a TV movie that if went well would turn into a series but it died a quick death and I dont think it has ever been shown in the UK outside of Sky.
Have always wondered what it was like but not going to pay £18 for it however the complete B5 collection sounds good.

Save your £18, it aint that great. Certainly not up to usual B5 standards unfortunately. Once this is out if you're still curious about it then go for a rental , but it's definitely not blind buy material. You'd be much better off putting your money towards the B5 season sets (unless you've already got them all, in which case there's always the movies

Star Trek wannabies
First of all, is this really 1:33 aspect ratio? The entire B5 series was widescreen (except for the original pilot) and it's hard to believe they reverted back to 4:3 for this.
Secondly, is this really B5 or a retitled Crusade TV film (haven't watched that at all), because I've never heard of it. Did they just put the B5 logo on this hoping they will sell to the completists?

Crusade was released in 4:3, so it isn't a surprise that this movie is in 4:3.

No, it's a legit TV movie. It was going to be the pilot of a new series had WB not pulled the plug on the B5 universe like it did. Just as "A Call to Arms" TV movie was more-or-less the pilot to Crusade.

It's absolutely WRONG. As this was originally broadcast on the SciFi channel in the US, it was Letterboxed, Widescreen. (somewhere I still have a tape of it).
If this is 4:3 then it's cropped.

B5LR /Crusade Info
This was originally mastered and broadcast in 1.78 (16x9) aspect ratio on SciFi Channel in the US, Sky One in the UK and PPV in Canada. If the 1.33 info given here is correct, this begs the question why would WB master a pan and scan version since this costs them about 10 grand? It doesn't make sense.
Also, JMS stated they were unwilling to part with that same amount per epsisode when it came to mastering the Crusade DVDs into widescreen format (which the show was actually shot in) so they proceeded with the pan and scan broadcast masters for DVD release. As for the last comment about Crusade continuing, well the now aborted B5 feature film - Babylon 5: The Memory of Shadows - that was to have been lensing this past April, would've been just that continuation since it had more of a connection to what was strongly hinted at in Crusade's storylines and had a strong Technomage element to it. It's setting was the B5 universe, not Babylon 5 itself.
