I second that. And according to Wikipedia, the complete series will be on DVD on March 1, 2011.

I just realized, the release date isn't the 25th anniversary of the first film (which was yesterday), rather it's the 25th anniversary of the day that serves as the present in all three films.

Will there be a commentary on part 2 or 3? Part 2 needs further analysis by the film makers.
Finally they release this after they through together the worthless DVDs instead of the Blus. Well the first one did have exclusive things with the ride. But definitely a first day buy for me.
Double dip ? This will be a triple dip for me. I got the trilogy set in '05 (and sent in for the corrected version of 2 & 3), then a few months ago, I got the special edition of the first movie. I, of course, will be getting this blu-ray set. I'm especially glad that it will have clips of Eric Stoltz as Marty as well as having all the previous extras on it. I love the BTTF extras.

well they sorta did, 2 and 3 were filmed together as one. though i know what you probably mean is they should have kept the idea of Part 2 as two movies instead of doing the old west thing.

This has been on my "must double dip" list for awhile. Can't wait to watch these films on my 52' TV all in HD. HEAVY!!!

Bob Zemeckis has said that the new documentary contains 3 pieces of footage of Eric Stoltz as Marty.
Hmmm.. that would be interesting.... Making the decision whether or not to by it harder.....I would wait for the reviews to ensure they have done the BD conversion properly....

Just bought the Special Edition DVDs when they came out. But I love these movies enough to get them on Blu-ray, I suppose.
The essentials are Back to the Future: The Ride and the correct framing of Part II.

The first one was great. The second one took it further and made it more crazy. The third one was dead... and boring. They could have made the second one into two movies instead.
I loved the first one. It was very well handled and a must-buy. I wasn't that much into 2 and 3. But I did make up my mind to pick up the trilogy when it came out on Blu, so I will do so end of this year.
The first one was great. New and inventive. Funny and an overall joy to watch. The second was pretty good. Rehashed in spots. Forced in others. The third movie was just lame. Jumps all over the place and the premise was tired and very forced. Really, a locomotive going 88 mph? In the late 1800's? I always support the idea of suspending reality in movies. Just couldn't buy this one. All in all, this is an obvious cash grab before these movies dematerialize into oblivion. Flogging a near dead horse for sure. Admittedly the extras make the release. Too bad you just can't rent or buy just the extras disc.
I'm so flippin' excited about this. I'm not even gonna tell my parents about this release, I'll just buy it for them for Christmas along with my copy :-D
2010: Year Of The Best Blu-Rays Ever!

What about the Looking Back to the Future documentary from the DVD release from the Special Edition DVD of the 1st film?

Sort of bad cover. Why change the original drawing for something very similiar (but worse)?
Would definitely like to check it out.
Listing on Play.com.........This is heavy!!!
This Collectors Edition Tin Includes A Delorean blueprint, An 'Outtatime' number plate, The Sports Almanac, Save The Clocktower poster & A Lenticular photo of Marty's family plus much, much more!
Only drawback is its priced at £44.99/€58.49, ouchie. I wish I could be able to sell my dvd trilogy set before I eventually buy this but I doubt it. As long as it gets great reviews for the transfers I will definitely purchase this.

Bring back Drew Struzan's amazing artwork please!
Also, is it just me or it seems like a couple of features from the recent 2-disc edition are missing?

Awesome news. Will be getting
Day one purchase for me! I just hope the films are in frame. The audio is DTS HD MA 5.1. Also according to producer Bob Gale the new documentary will have ultra-rare footage of Eric Stoltz as Marty McFly.Can't wait!
this is awesome and comingsoon.net listed the full extras list and they even kept all of the stuff from the 2002 dvd release. as an extras W***e, that pleases me to no end.
but "25th anniversary trilogy" ? silly people, only the first movie is 25yrs old the others are 21 and 20.

Hoped they would have done something that the Japanese did for the 20th anniversary! That included: DeLorian number plate, paper craft items, replicas of the three letters Doc sent in 1885 to Marty in 1985, Kubrick figure set & of course, the trilogy in a 4 disc set, all movies with DTS!
Out of print unfortunately, but these have been known to turn up on ebay from time to time.

Sorry, missed that out of the text above. There's a feature entitled "Back to the Future: The Ride"

Just as long as they don't screw up the framing again!

My all time favourite movie series, so I'm over the moon.
Did they really need to screw the artwork up? No, but they did it anyway. That's disappointing.

Can't really see that ever happening, but it would make for an essential documentary if you knew he was in it.
This is great news. The first film convinced me as a child that I NEEDED to do 3 things asap: learn to skateboard, learn the guitar and buy a DeLorean, purely because these three things were by far the coolest in the world.
and you didn't end up doing any of them
