It's about time....
After extensively reviewing the cases for the movie, I'm very dissapointed with the end product. This is Warner Bros. main money maker until Harry Potter comes out, so shouldn't it be a bit more extensive then the poster art? The release of both single and two disc sets is very proper though, however, i personally think that the Texas Chainsaw Massacre release should be more of an example for DVD release rather than what Warners is doing with basically rehashing the Constantine gimmick. When I looked at it long and hard, I spent ten dollars on something I have yet to even look at, I only watched the movie once as well. But TCM was handled beautifully, single perfect case, with poster art from the theatrical release, but the two disc set was completely original material. If they chose the one sheet with him standing in either the cave or the side shot of him in the sunset, it would have captured the total greatness of the movie. The single disc case is far more visually appealing than the two disc set, obviously, and the covers should be switched. The white text is offset to the artwork without the accompanying logo for the bat. There is no name credits, which is a major problem with me, and no picture on the side of the case. I think an original artwork piece would have been best for the DVD though, and the supporting cast is the glue that held this movie together, I thought Dr. Crane and Alfred were what added that one kick to the film that nothing else has reached yet in comic movies. I think this would have been the perfect movie for someone like Alex Ross to paint a cover for, even though he never does the actual movie likenesses. None of the posters featured the villians, which was kind of misleading to alot of people I think. But, anyways, I'll be spending the hundred dollars on the anthology and the two disc set of this on October 18 and they will go on the DVD display where they belong.
good stuff...
^ Well the Constantine strategy's pretty good. Releasing a single disc and double disc set so consumers can choose between how much they want to spend is very considerate of them. I picked up the double disc set for Constantine and will pick up the double discer of BB as well; however, I'm sure there's a boatload of people out there who don't want to spend a premium for extras they don't want.
Good on you WB!
Good on you WB!
awwww, i was hoping for the dark/greyish cover with him walking into a cave...
ah well, definately picking up the 2discer.
And i have a newfound respect for WB giving us an ultimatum.
Fox can learn a thing or two from WB...

can you elaborate? I am not sure what you are getting at.
releasing 2 versions?
or is it to do with the art work?
I know a lot of people found the single-disc of Constantine more visually appealing.

Awesome...AWESOME........
Awesome.
Awesome...AWESOME........
Awesome.
I'm disappointed that they decided to use 'US Poster 2' for the 2-disc edition. Either the international poster or 'US Poster 4' would have been great.

Either way I'll be picking it up... It will look far better than the region 4 release, due to our ugly rating symbols being plastered all over our covers!

Great cover and great extras !... The 2-disc set is mine !
Bat-tastic artwork!
GET IT?!
Yeah I'm sorry, that was pretty awful.

Excellent set. Will be mine on release date. But what happened with DTS? Warner finally includes DTS on the older Batman SEs but not on the all new one? What gives?
NICE NICE AND NICE!!!
Given it's only a $2 price difference, I'm def. going with the 2-disc.
I was very disapointed with this movie. It could have been better..
October is going to be a very expensive month, but Batman Begins is first on my list.
2 disc for me... can't wait!
dont really dig the covers, but Ill get the 2 disc. Any news on an R version that bale was hoping for?
Damn. I am going to get the 2 discer but the poster they used for the 1 disc edition was my favorite of the Begins poster and the one used for the 2 disc was my least favorite. Oh well, great movie.
Wished they would have used the single disk art on the 2 disk case. It's much cooler. oh well.
No deleted footage? no DTS? what gives?

Fantastic movie!
This is my favourite film of 2005 so far and, IMHO, one of the best films of its type ever made. Yeah, I'm getting the 2-disc edition. Kudos to Warner for giving us the choice
no deleted/alternate scenes,cmon
just realized this is released a day before my birthday, woohoo
Two Words
Damn Skippy!
I can't wait to see this!
love the single disc art, hate the 2-disc art.
Here's my problem with this set-up: I don't mind paying more for a second disc as with Constantine and frankly I'd rather do that then double-dip down the line. What I don't like is that most DVDs come out as 2 disc sets ALREADY and they only cost $15! So what's preventing WB from doing the same? Why even have a single disc edition? Becuase that justifies consumers spending $30 for a 2-disc set instead of $15! So basicly, we ARE getting double-dipped, or at least we're paying for it all up front!
October is indeed going to be one expensive month.
I think the prices are wrong. The 1-disc is probably $18.98 and the 2-disc $30.97. But, we'll see.
I like either cover, doesn't really matter. I do have to agree with some who have said the price is criminal. I mean what would folks say if Lucas released all of the prequels in single disk and double disk editions, charging 30 bucks for the double? I don't think the double disk here warrants a $30.00 price when you have films like the prequels and such which come out on double disk and have just as many extras but can be purchased for $20.00 or less.
