eh no thanks... lack of extras is a slap in the face. ill get the anthology collection
Yuck. That's awful looking.
I sorta wish Warners would issue out a Batman Begins/Dark Knight double feature disc instead of this. But it's a fine deal for those who want the first four movies and don't want to shell out for the Anthology edition.

Isn't there already a Batman Begins/The Dark Knight double pack? I know someone with a steelcase containing both, but those we're Blu-Ray.

That's a foreign release.
Take note that this new annoucement features the old Batman discs/transfers.

So do I understand correctly... 4 movies on 2 discs?
This implies each movie will only occupy 1 layer of a disc.
Will the digital files be IDENTICAL to the prior releases, without the slightest compression?
I find that hard to believe.

A huge pass. Already own the Batman Anthology collection from 2005, which is now OOP. At least they were all 2-disc SE's. If you want these movies cheap and don't care about extras, then this might be good for you.

Why is it a slap in the face to offer people a cheaper option if they don't care about special features? Sounds like they are giving everyone what they want.

Double-Sided, Double-Layered. I'd expect them to be the same as the transfers from the last set.

on Batman Forever, they listed Tommy Lee Jones first (that's wrong) and they MISSPELLED Chris O'Donnell's name!!!! EPIC FAIL!!!!
No big deal here, you still have to buy the Batman Anthology to get all the extras. Studios do these to make some extra change and sell at mom and pop stores. The fact that they are using the transfers from the Batman Anthology is astonishing.
A downgrade, pretty much the old single dvds altogether in a single better plasctic case.
Release a Batman Forever Exstended Director's Cut already.

Meh. I already have it.
oh dear me..
LOL...oh, not more "I already own it" complaints.
If you own the films, why would you even think a re-release would be aimed at you in the first place? When you enter a store, do you automatically look at every dvd and think, "WTF? They expect me to buy ANOTHER copy of this? Why does the store keep stocking it?" It just cracks me up. After all, how dare a studio try to sell its catalogue titles!
A more valid criticism would be the cover art. They managed to get the films in order for the Blade and Superman collections, so why not Batman?

"4 film favourites" lol. Batman & Robin isn't anybody's favourite anything.
Stupid. Just stupid. Same with Blade.
4 movies on 2 discs, no special features, no DTS tracks! What's the point?????
The point is that it's super cheap. Probably sell online and in stores for like 15 bucks. The target audience for these are not fans of the films, but random people who say "Oh look, 4 movies for 15 bucks. I kind of liked those ones" or "Oh, my grandson might like this, he is into comic books".
Pass. The only thing about the blu-ray that I didn't like was that they didn't use the poster art for the covers. Not that the covers they use weren't good, I just much prefer the original movie art.
Apparently organizing the images in release order on the cover was beyond the WB graphic art department.

Going to have to disagree with you on this one. Maybe not so much on the first batman movie but i think the art covers used for Returns, Forever and Batman & Robin were much much better then their posters. So with that said I loved the art covers used for the blu-ray anthology release. Agreed though that maybe the first one could have just used it's poster cover but once again i liked it.

This is nothing new...
Lethal Weapon, Superman, The Matrix, various theme mixes (4 action, 4 romance, etc.) I'm surprised there's even an announcement for one of these sets since they seem to just kinda show up on the shelves from time to time.
I don't quite get why there's so much of an uproar over something so trivial. Would you blind buy a franchise collection in a big box for $60-80, or $15?

Exactly. It's also quite common to find them on sale for less than $10.
They're aimed at casual consumers who like getting a bargain. Not everyone worries about how many extras are included or whether or not they're getting the "exclusive" packaging from Best Buy. This is why there continues to be a market for things like "Full Frame"- much to the dismay of home theater enthusiasts everywhere.

Didn't WB already do this with the Bat-films? Or am I thinking of the Superman set?
That Chris O'Donnell typo is pretty hilarious.
I think its funny to see Batman & Robin containing "strong" action, when the UK version is a PG and has "mild" for its violence lol.

Thats what I was thinking. They gotta add features to these sets.
S**t, they need features in these things. Though i think I'll get it.
