Warner Home Video has announced DVD ($19.98) and Blu-ray/DVD Combo ($24.98) releases of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns for September 25th. Extras will include a preview of DC Comics' next movie, and a Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 feature. The Blu-ray/DVD Combo release will also include a Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Digital Comic, 2 featurettes ("Her Name is Carrie...Her Role is Robin", "Batman and Me: The Bob Kane Story"), and 2 bonus cartoons.

Boy, this, The Avengers, The Indiana Jones Blu-ray Collection, and the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector's Set. My money is gonna be all funked up, next month, LOL...
So this is part 1 and when does part 2 comes out I hate when they do this I don't see why the couldn't have had the whole thing on 2 disc

When I saw a buddy of mine geeking out about this on Facebook, I was hoping that meant Kevin Conroy was voicing Batman. Alas, that isn't the case. My excitement just dipped a little, but I will still check this out.
As a real fan of Batman, without Kevin Conroy, this is a huge no sale.
From what we've seen and heard, Peter Weller seems pretty good as the ageing Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Since I won't be buying the disastrous "Dark Knight Rises" film (Why Nolan why???), I guess I can splurge on this.

I agree. Kevin Conroy was amazing! But something about Weller's voice as a much older Batman sounds right somehow.

I think it depends on what you expect and how deep you are into the lore. I've seen it twice and I enjoyed it a lot. There were a lot of things (ala "Catwoman"
that I didn't expect to work that actually did.

Judging by what Bruce Timm has been saying, this is as close to a word for word adaptation as DCU animation has done yet.
I want to see it since the DC animated Batman and Superman movies have been excellent no matter who voices the lead characters
Mother of God. Folks that whine about Kevin Conroy not voicing Batman in every single animated Batman production are shooting up the "Most annoying people" list. They're different incarnations of Batman than the animated series. It would be like using Michael Keaton in the Chris Nolan trilogy.
I really don't mind George Newbern as Superman. He sounds kind of like Tim Daly. But no one else can measure up to Kevin Conroy as Batman. They all just seem to be bad imitators. Conroy's been amazing in Public Enemies and Apocalypse.
I wish they'd issue these films on Blu-ray in the UK. Can't understand why they wouldn't. It's a shame, as when the films first started to be released I figured I'd wait and pick up the Blu-ray releases. Now they're too far ahead!

either way it'll be curious to see. i dont read comics so i just know the very basics of this storyline so it'll be new to me whenever i do watch it. i did see the trailer and peter weller will get some getting used to for Batman.
