You mean your not paid Chris? :O
Whilst I thought the Transformers movies were pretty good I can certainly see where Chris is coming from. Shall we leave the ball scene alone in Fallen?
In regards to Transformers - let us hope the next one can be what it really should be.

Chris, i respect your opinions (and i usually agree with your comments/reviews!) and in this case i also agree that the TRANSFORMERS movies are cheese and had racist parts (in the 2nd movie), but i never said you had bad taste or whatever. no biggie. i just thought it was a bit unnecessarily aggressive in telling people if they liked one movie over the other it means they have no taste. again, i pretty much agree w/ your views/reviews on movies, etc.
First twenty or so minutes were awful but once it kicked off I also thought this one was a lot of fun.
Oh boo hoo. By your logic both you and Da B-Meister are guilty of the same thing, since you both posted comments that were in disagreement with my original opinion. Or are you exempt from your own rules? I'd have to be paid to be considered a professional as well.
Chris Gould for someone who's an editor on this site you sure like to think YOUR "taste" is better than others. you're ego is a bit out of whack (not to mention your comments tend to be unprofessional).
It was a pretty horrible movie.

Not by a LONG shot is that close to true.
It is if you have taste. At no point in this film did one of the aliens piss oil on a human character. Don't remember any racism either. Some leering at women, but what are you gonna do?
No, those with taste can see how Battleship is a pathetic attempt to capture some of the entertainment value of Transformers and fails miserably because Berg can't compare to Bay in the area of action and spectacle. At least in Transformers you don't have Bay re-working a well-known Youtube clip into a scene to showcase how stupid the main character was (i.e. the break-in to the convenience store). Nor do you have Bay using a bunch of geriatrics to save the day by helping (all apparently within 1-2 minutes) to undock an old museum ship and put it back in action to beat the superior aliens.

I enjoyed the third TF movie a helluva lot more than "Battleship." That being said, Bay's first two TF movies are on a even keel with Berg's monstrosity.

yeha, i thought TRANSFORMERS (all three of them) were a trillion times better than this movie and i say that as someone who's not really a fan of the TRANSFORMERS movies.
Battleship Is Not The Worst Movie Of 2012,It's Visual Effects And Battle Sequences WERE PRETTY GOOD.

When Kitsch start getting all these major roles? He came out of nowhere.

Quite enjoyed this, but have to admit it's a bit of a turd. Completely brainless, but fun nonetheless, with awesome VFX. 3/5. I've no intentions on watching it again though. And horrible, horrible cover.

Well put.

Well... there's a movie in the works for Tonka Trucks.
Why did they try to infuse characters and plot into the Battleship game? That's a recipe for disaster.
@mc_serenity you are spot on. the pacing of the movie is HORRIBLE! there's stretches where nothing interesting happens.

"Savages" was made for a fraction of what it cost "John Carter" and "Battleship" -- around $45M compared to the bloated $250M and $209M budgeted films. "Savages" will break even theatrically.
But this movie... proof that trying to ape Michael Bay makes you look stupid. The movie was too long, poorly plotted, and I hated the camerawork. Peter Berg should never EVER direct big-budgeted fare again if this film and "Hanc***k" are any indication.

Seeing Brooklyn Decker and Rihanna naked would be my only reason for wanting to see this movie, but since there are already tons of pics of them nearly naked on the internet, I guess I'll have to pass on this one...
I thought it was quite enjoyable and fun. It was nothing special but it's one of those movies you can watch a friday night with friends and just laugh at it. It's definitely so bad it's good.
Nice to see a quote on the cover. NBC and Universal definitely aren't linked at all...
This movie is yet another reason I hate the talent-less Rihanna.

If Liam Neeson had said the words "You sunk my Battleship," that would've been worth the price of admission right there. Alas, I hear he nor any other actor utters the phrase.
If someone I know happens to rent this (or God forbid, buys it) and asks me to watch it when I have nothing better to do, then perhaps I shall give it a shot. Otherwise, I'm not going out of my way to see it.

It's c**p.
Battleship is one of the best AWFUL movies out there. It's a complete insult to the intelligence, but there is a measure of entertainment value.....however slight.
I thought this film was entertaining as hell. Dumb as f**k obviously, but very entertaining.
thats a pretty decent set of extras for such a failure. but it bares so little in common with the board game, i'm willing to bet this was just some script someone had and they just shoehorned in references and things to make it "Battleship".
sorta like Hellraiser 5 through 8.
but it sure is funny to see Liam Neeson on the cover, i hear he has like 10mins of screentime if that. lol

Old Universal logo!
i found this movie to completely unengaging just blech. it's not awful but i have no desire to ever watch it again. i'd rent this before i'd buy it folks.
And see folks, THIS is the reason why you don't give a movie $200 mil to work with that's about a board game.
