Must get.  I wasn't sure about this after the initial mini.  I thought it was slow and kind of boring.  The series itself has been fantastic.  And for the haters on both sides, it is possible to enjoy both the old and the new.

That's MSRP, very rarely are DVD's sold for that price. The $19.99 DVD's that are released every tuesday for usuallly $15.99 the first week are MSRP of $29.99.  

Season 2.5 is $32.48 on Amazon.com.

So CALM DOWN it isn't $49.99.

aren't Video blogs just the producer talking to the camera throughout the second season production schedule? either way  I don't know about you but when paying for DVDs I expect specially made featurettes as well as anything that can be downloaded free. I'd most like to see some audio commentaries from the cast plus more behind the scenes involving the cast not just the producers.

Because of the inferior Best Buy S1 release last year followed by a better complete S1 3 months later...

Because DVD distibutors like to offer better dvd packages later meaning early purchasers lose out often happens

I think he means that you can download most of these extras on the offical website.

The only stuff you can't get is the extended pegasus with commentary and deleted scenes for Downloaded and LDYBs part 1 and 2.

That whole post is silly.  For one, the Special Effects are some of the BEST on TV.  Yes, some of the CG Cylon Toaster shots are a bit questionable (only because the lighting/ shadows don't seem right), but all the space shots are spot on.  

The music is excellent.  The soundtracks seem to be hits according to fans of soundtracks.  

The acting is also very excellent.  If you think the story writing is subpar, then maybe you're not mature enough to handle the story lines.

what is disappointing beyond the price is that there doesn't appear to be any featurettes only deleted scenes, postcasts & video blogs. I must admit this saddens me because I was expecting some goodies after paying so much for pt 1 & now 2. It seems yet again early purchasers get ripped off untill the full S2 boxset is released no doubt cheaper with a whole host of extras.

There is a real issue with TV show sets and pricing -- the MSRP's are all over the place in a way that you just don't see with standard movie releases.

A 22 episode season of a current mainstream show like Boston Legal is $49.95.  House is $59.95.  So is Prison Break. CSI is $49.95 or $89.95 depending on which season you want.  A 13 episode season of a basic cable show like The Closer or The 4400 is $39.95 -- definitely more per-episode than average for the 22 episode seasons.  HBO is in a class by itself, with almost all its dramas MSRP'd at $99.95 for a mere 12 episodes.   R1 versions of some BBC shows (the new Doctor Who, Spooks/MI-5) are almost as pricey ($99 for 13 eps of Who, $79.95 for 10 of Spooks/MI-5).

Older shows are all over the map -- XFiles seasons are $49.95 now but used to be well over $100.  Full seasons of Buffy are $39.95.  Later seasons of ST:TNG are still $149 although the earlier ones are less than half that at $69.95.  

I could go on, but you see the point -- the prices are just all over the place for TV sets -- you can expect to see anywhere from 22 episode seasons at $49.95 to 12 episode seasons at twice that, just depending on the show.  Yes, we can all find the cheaper prices, but those cheaper prices ultimately are based on the MSRP's in the first place, so it's frustrating.  It's impossible to tell whether the studios/distributors are doing some honest assessment of how many units they're going to sell of a particular title or whether they're just trying to milk the fans of certain shows known to be particularly loyal and less subject to impulse buying at seriously discounted prices.  Nobody likes feeling ripped off.

I also fully support battlestar Galactica(& other shows) but that doesn't give the studios the right to hike the prices up to ridiculus amounts. we as fans of the shows should be treated with a modicum of respect & not thought of as cash cows waiting to milked, it only encourages piracy.

It's not to much to ask for a FAIR price for a COMPLETE season boxset after all the series costs no more than a major blockbuster, that has aired on TV first. So it should only cost a little more to produce due to extra packaging & 4 more dvds for a complete season( or in this case 1 extra disc)

Sir. I fully supported "The Adventures Brisco County, Jr." when the show was on the air. I was a member of the newsletter and wrote the network when they canceled it. But I will not be purchasing the DVD set for a hundred dollars. The most I will pay is forty-five bucks. It's far too expensive.

Make a note. Just because I complain about a DVD price doesn't not mean I do not support the show. The two are separate entities.

And yes, I'm a bit miffed at the BSG 2.5 price tag, but I can afford that. Wal-Mart will have it for $38 or $36.

In addition, you can still pick up season 2.0 for 32.99 (which is lower than msrp) at deep discount dvd with free shipping, so just buy it, quit whining about it and be a man/woman.  Take a stand and support good TV.  Otherwise this show will be like futurama, fastlane, and family guy (however they came back, albeit not as good).

Ha! THE UK Full Season 2 set can be had for $55 USD; And AMAZON.uk marketplaces may have it even cheaper.

The art work is lazy, they used those pics for the season 2.0 sleeves.

Look forward to seeing what R2 has to offer.

If it's TOO EXPENSIVE, then don't support GSG and then DON'T complain when the show goes off the air because the 1/2 season box sets were TOO MUCH money. Your the people who don't suppport a show when it is on TV but are the first too get your undies in a bunch when a show is cancelled. SHUT UP and just watch you crarpy VHS copies.

I agree.  I just started rewatching the mini again today and I was immediatley reminded why this show rocks.

It's going to be about $30-35.00 when it comes out and that's not going to hurt your wallet... and it was obviously designed to connect with the Season 2.0 packaging so there's no need to do "one complete second season boxed set." The creators wanted the seasons to be separated in halves. If you were to watch the show and see how different each half is, you would understand why.

I hated the other covers. Come on! Glowing Eyes? When in the entire series do her eyes glow? I welcome the change. It's so less cheesy. Fitting for a show that keeps it to a minimum.

I doubt very seriously that there will be a full season set.  However, this is probably the only time they will do this, because with the October start for the third season means that there will be no mid-season break like there was for the second season.  Therefore there will be no need to break up any more seasons if they continue with the October start.

As for the $50 SRP, yeah so what?  The actual price will be more like $30.  That's still cheaper than a season of The Shield.

One of the BEST shows on the air.  Between this and the 4400 cable seems to have what the networks don't have - the ability to produce and stand behind great sci fi television.  And that is the retail price - you can find cheaper on Amazon, Target, etc.  I've heard there will not be a complete season 2 release.

It'll be interesting to see what the HD DVD releases are like as well. I read somewhere within the last couple of days that there are plans for the first season on HD DVD, but I don't think there has been any official announcement. Too bad I'm more of a Blu-Ray supporter. (And I don't have an HD display yet, so it really doesn't matter anyway.)

Any chances for a COMPLETE season 2 box? I put off buying 2.1 in the hope there might eventually be one. I don't like having my seasons split in half like this.
