My Goodness! It's about time this gets released!! I will definitely be getting this come March. I'm especially happy that the entire season is getting 1 big package instead of the 2.0 and 2.5 nonsense from season 2.

Got this on R2 ages ago. Seems odd that the US market has got it much later than the UK. We didn't get the extended 'Unfinished Business' episode though.
UK release did have a 30 min season 1+2 recap episode which was quite useful.

Finally! I absolutely loved the finale to that season.
If I were Apollo, I'd be staring down at those all day too.
Holy frak that was a long wait form the DVD release of 2.5!! Thank you studio, for not splitting the season
No mention of the rumoured extended cut of the web-cast Resistance prequel story. Is this an oversight, or is it not going to be on the DVD?

Why would they split the season?
They only split the second season as they did because there was about a 6 month gap between the airing of each half. Season 3 aired more or less continually, with only about a month break or so between halves.
Geez, it doesn't take rocket science to figure these things out.

Yeah, if the webisodes aren't on here I am going to be really angry! I'll buy it regardless, even though after Exodus, it's basically the worst season yet with mostly filler.
Both of the Adamas are staring down the cylon's top.

I only follow the series on DVD so I have no clue how it 'airs'

Well, I'm just tellin' ya. Actually, I was a bit off on that airing gap. I was about 3.5 months, as opposed to the typical month during the December break. But still, because of the long gap, Universal decided to release the first half of the season in late December to allow people like you who only watch the series via DVD to catch up, or to bring in new viewers after the much talked about "Pegasus" episode.
Uinversal is rerleasing the entire season this time because 1) there was no long gap between halves of season, and 2) the long gap came after the season aired. So obviously no reason to split this season.
Now for the 4th and final season, that'll be a different story. Due to the writer's strike, it's likely that the second half, at least the final 7 episodes may not air until 2009 if at all, but not's go there until that's confirmed. 'Cause I think they had scripts for 13 episodes before the strike started. So it's likely that Season 4 may be split into halves for the DVD release.

Actually 13 episodes means 'Razor' and 11 regular episodes. So 9 episodes are yet to be made.

They based the set discription based on the press copy below the artwork, according to that copy, there are 15 hours of extras, they may still have a special episode called "Resistance" an episode that contains the webisodes plus other footage not previously seen in those websodes.
BTW, speaking of the press copy, is it just me or are they seriously going to release the fourth season of Sliders and the first season of Invisible Man on the same day as the third season of Battlestar Galactica? If so, does Universal think that all SF fans are made of money or something?

I hope so. Living in the UK we were blocked from watching them online. I had to go *ahem* elsewhere to watch them.

Hooray! The webisodes are included! I'm glad I held off buying this here in the UK with these and the extended Unfinished Business episode, the UK has been stiffed again!
I'll pick this up quickly along with the Razor movie, I kinda missed most of the season after It started getting boring.
About time this got announced. The cover art is a little funny.
Good to see The Resistance is indeed on here.

when haven't we in the UK been stiffed with BSG? every single DVD has been inferior to the US.

I may be in the minority here but I think Starbuck would be a hotter frak than six.
Of course, I certainly wouldn't kick six outta bed for eating crackers by any means.

Nah...Katie Sackhoff looks too much like my butch-looking neighbor who grew up to become a State Trooper. The first time I saw the mini-series back in Dec. 2003, that was the first thing I thought of.
