Disney reveals details for DVD and Blu-ray editions of a "Diamond Edition"
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced 2-disc DVD ($29.99) and Blu-ray/DVD Combo ($39.99) releases of Beauty and the Beast for the 23rd November and 5th October respectively. Each will feature hours of additional viewing experiences that include behind the scenes features, deleted scenes, enhanced music tracks, immersive games and more. We'll bring you further details as we get them. We've attached package artwork for the Blu-ray release below:

Synopsis
Quote: Set in and around a quaint French village during the late 18th century, Beauty and the Beast follows the fantastic adventures of Belle, a bright and beautiful young woman who finds escape from her ordinary life, and the advances of a boorish suitor, Gaston, by reading books. Meanwhile, off in a castle in the distance, a cruel young prince is cast under the spell of an enchantress who turns him into a tormented beast, while transforming his servants into animated household objects. In order to remove the curse, the Beast must discover a true love who will return his affection before the last petal falls from an enchanted rose. When Belle’s inventor father stumbles upon the Beast’s castle and is taken prisoner, Belle comes to the rescue and agrees to take her father’s place. With the help of the castle’s enchanted staff, she sees beneath the Beast’s exterior and discovers the heart and soul of a human prince.

Cannot wait for this release. My platinum dvd will be gifted to a nephew. I hope they give us another nice Disney Coupon to bring the blu ray combo pack way down in price like recent releases. Love the cover art too.

This is SO mine!
as long as this is a good transfer and does NOT have that awful song they added into the last dvd release I might double dip for the Blu-ray. It's a good film and deserves a good HD release.
oh my god!!!!
I will only buy this if they release a coupon for current DVD owners.
Love this movie, though. My fourth all-time favorite Disney film.

"Be my guest, be my guest, must purchase DVD for my DVD chest!!!"
HELL! YES! Count me in! This or "Aladdin" was my first movie in a theater as a child. Classic!!!

Chances are they will. Disney did it for their "Snow White" Diamond Edition as well as the "Toy Story" combo packs.

Been waiting for this one. Definitely on my short Disney classic favorites list.
if the package contains both the dvd and blu-ray, why even bother doing two seperate releases? and of course they're still releasing a dvd only edition but not a blu-ray only edition. so once again they are forcing blu-ray buyers to pay more for something they might not even want.
this whole combo thing is such a bad idea.

Not getting it (at least not right away, maybe only when a super cheap promotion comes along) since I`m still super satisfied with my collector`s edition double dvd.
The photoshop on the cover could(and should) have been better, you can see that Belle's dress is messed up, the lines under the title don't match the upper body.
Still love the movie.

I am never buying these movies out of fear or yet another version being released a few years later.
I'll be getting this for sure since it's only one of two Disney animated classics I do not own!
i'll get it just to add to the disney blu ray collection that seems to be unfolding nicely lately, i hope they continue to come out with them at a decent pace like they have been.
Oh yeah! I remember this movie, now...LOL!
Probably an Amazon purchase, hopefully.

This is an automatic buy. The last set was fantastic, so hopefully this one - with its improved transfer and sound quality - will be even better (and hopefully have new bonus material in addition to the old stuff).
But I want a deluxe edition box set, like the LE storybook design the last one had.

I love it - it means I can still watch the movie in other rooms where I only have a DVD player.

does this mean Oct 5 the Blu Ray will be released and the standard dvd on Nov 23?
I don't understand the artwork where the first picture says "DVD+Blu-ray" and the 2nd photo shows "Blu-ray + DVD"
Isn't that kind of redundant?

This is mine! Now bring out Lion King :D
I was very confused with the double BLU RAY + DVD / DVD + BLU RAY
Basically, it's the DVD casing that is different. The guy at FYE explained it to me. If you want to have the old fashioned regular DVD case, you would buy the DVD + BLU RAY. If you want the BLU RAY DVD case, you get the BLU RAY + DVD. If you look at the 2nd picture, you can see the case is a BLU Ray case.
Very ridiculous, but I guess it worked since I got both for Snow White. LOL!!

Awesome film. Dumps from a great height on many other films, animated or otherwise.

It is redundant, but Disney is really pushing for the Blu-ray to end up in many houses. So they release the same two discs (DVD & Blu) in two different packaging; the first cover is for the DVD packaging and the second is obviously Blu-ray. The DVD packaging is to 'encourage' people who haven't bought Blu-ray to do so to 'future proof' their collection.

The artwork is sooooooo horrible! Why, Disney?!?! :`(
Never seen this one in my life. Worth it...?

I guess the same reason why Snow White got a terrible cover too :\, Belle's face looks nothing like her, and the staircase with the enchanted characters doesn't make any sense in the middle of the room,

No special edition? Gone With the Wind gets one.
The artwork, IMO, isn't bad, but, it's not as memorable as the recent Snow White Blu-Ray's release. Also, I gotta go to amazon and get my hands on the Sleeping Beauty Blu-Ray before they start jacking them up to fifty bucks or more. Will get this.
A Must Own (for me). I owned this since the days of LD and I sure won't miss the BD.
I wonder if they'll release an unnecessarily expensive uber edition like they did for Snow White.
