I never saw "Behind Enemy Lines", is it any good? Does it deserve a straight to video sequel?

It's a pretty good movie. Takes place in the Balkans. Around Serbia. Uses authenic Russian-made equipment from the Czech Army. Has a killer sound-track.
I have the first disc, and I'll be interested to know if the sequel will be available seperately.

The best thing about this movie was the wierdness of seeing Owen as an action star. Otherwise, it was fairly pedestrian.
I'll assume the sequel will be low budget c**p.

Does this really deserve a re-release, let alone a DTV sequel and a box set!?
A sequel? That's a new one on me!
Behind Enemy Lines was an enjoyable film, but nothing else.

The first one was an enjoyable if not implausible action movie. I think they should have gone with an "R" rating instead of PG-13 and it would have been a much more intense action film. There are some violent deleted scenes that if put back in would without a doubt have given it an "R" rating. As for this sequel, it looks incredibly stupid.
First one is actualy a good action thriller movie.......enjoyed watching it....

Agreed. The deleted scenes, much like the scenes added back into The Patriot, would have made Behind Enemy Lines a much darker film.

I'm sorry, I must've missed something...based on what?

This is so stupid. That`s all I can say.
Funny, the last guy on the opening credits, Geoff Pierson isn't even in the movie.
He's in one of the deleted scenes and you can only barely see him near the end, in the background (don't want to mention anything)

I liked the first one and I would love to see the DTV sequel. Behind Enemy Lines was one of the few movies with Owen Wilson where I could actually stand his acting (and he was good in the film).

Based on the fact that there has never been a well made DTV sequel since their sole purpose is just to mooch on the moderate success of the first movie, trying to sucker in fans of the originals to spend their cash.

what the f$%#? this is pathetic now.
Never heard of this sequel - the original was just about watchable.
Thats a nice cover for the second movie, to bad its going to suck.

Are you trying to say that the studios do this to cash in on the name-sake of a theatrical movie to sell a B-movie knock-off?
I don't know judging by the cover, which includes what looks like North Korean tanks, it could be a well deserved follow-up to the 2001 film. It's not a direct sequel, (at least I don't think it is), but it will probably follow the same premise. Instead of Bosnia, it'll be North Korea this time. Bosnia was the hot topic at the time because it was pre-9/11 when the first one was made. Doing one with Iraq or Afghanistan now wouldn't make sense, as there are no enemy lines. But doing it North Korea kinda like the film Stealth did, it makes sense.
