Warner Home Video has announced DVD ($19.96) and Blu-ray ($28.99) releases of Being There which stars Peter Sellers, and Shirley Maclaine. This "Deluxe Edition" of the Hal Ashby directed film will be available to own from the 3rd February. As well as a remastered presentation, the DVD will include a Memories From Being There featurette with Illeana Douglas (granddaughter of Melvyn Douglas). The Blu-ray release will include that, along with additional scenes/outtakes, and an alternate ending.

I loved this movie! It was a nice departure for Peter Sellers from his Pink Panther movies. I can't wait for the Blu-ray!
A "Deluxe Edition" now means including a featurette..? Way to skimp on the extras Warners! This masterful film deserves better treatment.

Warner is usually really good with Special Editions, not this one

Classic film
This is my 4th favorite film of all time. But Blu-Ray EXCLUSIVE bonuses? Well, that's just another reason for me to buy a player now isn't it?! Should've stuck with the original art though.

If it's the film, I highly recommend checking it out. Director Hal Ashby proved himself to be a master of satire with "Being There" which helped inspire the character of Forrest Gump nearly 15 years later.
I guess I'll just hold on to the current DVD if the "Deluxe" dvd is going to get the shaft. At least the transfer is good enough.
Saw this film for the first time today in class, great movie. Will definitely pick up.
