R1 DVDs seem to be getting all the good covers, these days.
Real disappointment. But I bought it. Because I just cant resist Mary Elizabeth Winstead (and somewhat Crystal Lowe)
this movie wuz really dumb...i expected more from the creators of Final Destination...this wuz a let down...and soo unrealistic...and wtf?..some clips from the preview were never in the movie! Ex. the killer on the ceiling...or the chick caught on the christmas lights getting pulled into a snow plow...that would've been awesome...
i wanna give this a try, i've heard so many good reviews, and so little bad reviews that now im asking myself, should i get it or not? i always do
WELL WITH THE NEW REMAKE OF SILENT NIGHT,DEADLY NIGHT NOW IN THE WORKS,THE QUESTION I WILL HAVE IS WILL IT GO STRAIGHT TO DVD BECAUSE OF THIS ONE TANKING?
"I work at a theater and when I checked the auditorium there was ZERO count 'em ZERO people in the theater. It was only the second week of release too, haha."
Well when was it playing? About 10 in the morning? Or, like 11 at night? Because of course there won't be people there.

A horrible remake of a classic. The acting was god awful, and it was not even remotely scary. Laughable at best, don't waste your time people.
Just simply stay away from this and go for the original.
My kingdom for a new story idea!!! Why do they have to remake the old ones!

She doesn't die at all. Infact she is the only chick that doesn't die. The only good thing about this movie is Michelle Trachtenberg Yumm!
Really? Hmm, well does she look good in it? If not, then I'm not gonna waste Netflix queue space....if she does, PERHAPS I will. See on the other hand, I don't really find Trachtenberg that attractive.

Same here, seeing the girls alone is well worth the price. I could less care about the movie itself, it's the cast I'm more interested in.

I'm all about Lacey Chabert.

I went to see it 3 or 4 weeks after it was released and it was sold out. :-/
How many seats did that theater have? 4?

This movie was garbage, they completely overexplained the antagonists's back story for absolutely no reason at all (what was the point of him having yellow skin? No point.) and not a single kill was what I'd consider "cool".
Easily the worst movie of 2006.
I expected better from the people who cowrote many great X-Files episodes. If I want sadistic murdering Christmas tales, I'll just stick with the Tales From the Crypt episode with the insane Santa (I forget what it's called). Now THAT, was how you do sadistic Xmas stories.

It shows, the movie was a mess.

The villain looked like Viggo from ghostbusters 2 with that goldie lock hair he he
i had so much hope for this film, but it was so damm terrible. the villian sucked, acting was bad, and it was just so lousy. one of the biggest dissapointments for me last year
Awful, awful movie.
I was really excited about the movie because of its "eye candy" cast, and the whole movie was great except for that lame ass bogus ending!!!!
This was terrible.
Loved this one. Can't wait for the unrated!
Ill definatly buy this, i enjoyed it. I wonder if the Unrated Cut will be a mix of the US nd UK
is this worse than all those other terrible remakes..or on par with its badism.
I might watch it.
Also I hated the TCM remake.
Also I hated the TCM remake.
I thought that this was so over the top, so hysterical, so gory, so fun and I totally dug it. Will def pick this up, the best horror film from 2006, in my opinion. Its everything a horror film should be.
and for the record there had to have been at least 20 people in my theater when i saw it. just so you know.

Hmm saw this at the theater and Found it to be hilarious and couldn't believe how over done and over the top the kills were. Don't care to see it again tho. It was pure trash.

The remake of TCM was actually great. It was really well-made, with gorgeous cinematography and characters you could actually care about, unlike in the original. It was definitely an improvement, IMO. This is nothing like that remake, which was probably the best horror remake since the trend started. That movie is Citizen Kane next to this one. That being said, I did find this remake entertaining. It's not that great or one I feel the need to see again anytime soon but it was passable entertainment, especially after hearing it was so bad.

The original Black Christmas is THE original Slasher film (Psycho and Texas Chain Saw Massacre don't count- they're on a completely different level). Canadians know how to do horror right...it's just a shame that Americans feel the need to remake EVERYTHING and turned Black Christmas into "just another teen horror pic". wanna see some good up and coming Canadian horror? go to myspace.com/knivesofthereaper - it's the next big thing
Subpar enterteinment
