Unrealistic? I hate to burst your bubble but the makers of this film stated that they were influenced by Peter Jackson's earlier movies Bad Taste and Dead Alive....watch Bad Taste and tell me if you see one second of anything that is not lame and unrealistic....
THATS THE POINT!
I for one will be first in line for this baby.
What I mean by unrealistic was the fact that the storyline is too hard to take... i personally did not buy it. Very low end. I really disliked this film.

Anyone who's ever been chased by angry sheep will testify that they can be scary critters.
People I know had a castrated ram as a (supposedly docile) pet, they walked it through the streets like a dog.
Whenever I visited they had to lock the sucker up, he thought it was funny to bowl me over at full speed. It broke a fence and a gate once trying to get to me.
Raised my respect for sheep no end. And they have creepy octopus-eyes too.
Having said that, this is supposedly great fun. I wrote an article on computer-aided large battlescenes, and someone mentioned in the comments that "Black Sheep" contains one of the best...
So I'll be checking this out.
As for the people calling this movie 'unrealistic': you did spot the were-sheep people in the trailer, didn't you? This isn't exactly "Cujo" we're talking about...

Whew...
The photo didn't load on the main page for this and I clicked on it thinking it was another re-release of the Farley/Spade "comedy" of the same name. I was relieved to see that it wasn't...
Anyway, this looks pretty fun. Will definitely check it out with NetFlix.

The whole concept is lame and unrealistic, even though WETA got their hands on the anamatronics, sheep design, etc... it could not be saved.
BTW the cover is nice. Why do bad movies tend to always get the better cover arts? Grr.
Was this the same 'bootleg' that was doing the rounds that had no score and was, infact, the workprint? Just curious...

Missed this one at the theater. The trailer looked good and it's my kind of comedy/horror.
A movie about killer sheep is unrealistic? Damn....
Anyway, I want to see this. Looks amusing.

You saw a bootleg version which means you are horse@%!@* and no one will give your opinion any credibility.
Id really do not want to argue with immature lowlifes because at no point do i feel the need of wasting my time on trashy undeveloped people. Ahh yes you are infact 'Reported'

You saw a bootleg version which means you are horse@%!@* and no one will give your opinion any credibility. People like you are the problem. You watch bootleg versions of small films like this that have a shoestring budget to begin with, and then complain about the production value.
Who said i was complaining about production budget? Re-read!?
I said, and I quote:
"The whole concept is lame and unrealistic..."
That clearly states is the actual film not the cost behind it. And even though Weta got their hands on the anamatronics and things... it could never get the film to rise. Go watch real films!
Chill out, it's only a movie. No need to get at each other's throats about it. Besides, real films are movies that are made by filmmakers with vivid imaginations & a really great story to tell, the kind of real films that are made on a small budget and somehow, it ends up being talked about in a positive way. "Black Sheep" is a pure example of a real film.

I saw this at a film festival...I don't know if it was simply because it involved New Zealand and Peter Jackson or what but it definitely felt like a straight on imitator to Brain Dead or Bad Taste...nothing felt very creative or new considering that...but it did get a few laughs out of me so eh?
Cool!
So many sheep jokes involving New Zealanders, so little time

looks like my kind of movie!
Don't be a sarcastic t**t. There's a difference between commenting on a film and nit-picking about stupid little things, as you were doing yesterday.
I think this looks & sounds terrible, but hey, don't want to give the impression I'm looking to complain about something. Let's all remain optimistic about naff flicks & sing songs about love..... together now...
oh dear lord. the things we will spend our money on.
This is just about to come out theatrically in the UK - Looks funny.
The UK tagllne is "Lets get the flock out of here". Not quite as good as the US DVD one but funny nevertheless.
I will definitely see it.

i was sold when i saw one picture of this film on imdb. however, i don't think it even played in my continent so it's a blind buy for me.
I really wanted to see this too and it only showed at my local Independent theater for a week.Great idea for a movie especially considering that New Zealand has a larger population of sheep than people.Plus Weta did the special fx and created the creatures so it is a must see.
Definate blind buy. I´ll be disapointed if its too good. Looks like cheesy yummy goodness.
Sh*te production (according to lee09) aside, the tagline's enough to make me want to see this. Awesome! Wish more movies would straddle the lines between sh*te, cheese and being serious. I mean, Peter Jackson's "Dead Alive" was rife with bad acting, relatively low production values, great small-budget special effects, and brilliant one-liners ("Stay back, my son! This calls for divine intervention! I kick arse for the Lord!"). Can't wait to see "Black Sheep"!

Not quite...everybody knows the perfect double feature for Night of the Lepus starring DeForest Kelley is Kingdom of the Spiders starring William Shatner.

I am going to study abroad in New Zealand for a year and this is a definite must see before I do. And when I'm there all the kiwis will wonder why I look so paranoid around sheep. haha
A perfect double feature with Night of the Lepus?

That's possibly the best tagline for a film I've ever seen
That is the funniest cover ever!
Dimension EXTREME.
Wow.
But I'm totally going to buy this.
