2.5 million?
Didn't the last season of 24 do 35 million with its premiere? Not interested.

Yes it was cancelled pretty early. Didn't see one episode. I'm wondering how "UNRATED" it will be.
I'll pass for now and pick up the whole series when it comes out.
Don't buy this! The whole Blade series is "episodic" and every episode "to be continued". You don't get a full story with the first episode, only the set up for the series.
Oh please....this is as stupid as FX releasing the pilot episode of "Over There", which ironically starred Sticky Fingaz as well.
I'm just hoping that this "unrated" version will be on the eventual season set.
The series lasted for 13 episodes and had somewhat of a cliff-hanger, but then was cancelled (or wasn't picked up for another season) after that. The cliff-hanger, however, was conclusive enough for the story told in the 13 episodes that it did have, so not getting a second season isn't a killer, no pun intended.

I'm surprised they're not just releasing a "Blade: The Complete Series" DVD set. Of course, I'm also surprised that the Sci-Fi Channel hasn't pick up the show, either.
This was freakin' awful. Snipes isn't the best actor in the world, but Blade was HIS role and Fingaz just does a laughable impression. Even the dialogue gribs numerous lines from the films,( "I'm something else" ).Poor!
yeah this was pretty bad.....but my love for the Blade series will make me buy the full series when that eventually comes. its like The Crow, i LOVE the first movie, love it so much that i watched and even recorded every episode of the tv series and will buy the dvd coming out soon...even though i thought the show was pretty bad...my obsession is making me, so it'll be the same for Blade..lol
i only saw the first 4 or 5 episodes but did they ever explain why Blade suddenly sported a shaved head? cuz that took a while to get used to. lol

well you gotta realize, Spike is a MUCH smaller network and its a cable network so not everybody gets it. so 2.5 probably is a lot for them. Its sorta like the WB and UPN and now CW...they probably average 2-5 million on their hit shows and while thats s**t compared to the major networks, its a lot for them.
not excusing the show here, it was bad but yeah. lol

No thanks.A waste of money and waste of time.
Yeah, it looked pretty lame. No thanks.
I thought this was actually a pretty good series for a low budget cable version of Blade. Sticky actually really improved as the series went along and Jill Wagner was a solid female lead. I would much rather see the entire series, but if this is under $15 bucks then maybe I will consider getting it.
The effects were actually pretty good for a cable-budgeted show. The ashing effects for when he'd slay a vampire were just as good as the movies, if not beter.

I agree with Don. I really dug the show while it was on. And not to say this is a big surprise, but it was MUCH better than Trinity.
Oh, and for those of you in the U.S. and with HDNet, Blade:The Series premieres this Monday night.

This show actually amde "Trinity" look good.
can anyone pronounce "Chthon". Or am I out of the loop here?

In the show they say it like "Kath-hon".
Hope that helps.

A year later after the series had already debuted and been cancelled... Yup, that makes sense...
Will this feature an extended ending to wrap up the pilot ala "Twin Peaks" or will this have an abrupt "to be continued..." like the actual t.v. pilot?
i liked this show, but i don't think the ratings it had would metit releasing the pilot on its own.
I also have problems picking up "primere episode only" DVD's. I would encourage everyone to buy only full seasons. It will keep everyone from getting double dipped.
Snipes didn't get to portray the character on the series because he was an arrogant asshole on the set of the third film and then apparently demanded a ridiculous amount to reprise the role for a planned fourth film and the subsequent TV show. Not too smart, considering that franchise was the only non-DTV work he was doing at that point.
Rental.

Boy, then it must be really bad.

Old Sticky seems to be the kiss of death for shows. First Over There,(which was okay), and now Blade,(which wasn't).
I consider myself a Blade fan. I have the movie trilogy set, but I heard nothing but terrible things about the TV show. Crow: Stairway to Heaven was probably better than that tripe.

Judge for yourself. I found the entire series much more entertaining than Trinity.

Man, there is a lot of Blade haters here. I for one enjoyed the series and was upset that they had canceled the series. As someone mentioned before, the Sci-Fi channel should have picked this up instead. As for this release, I'm going to pass on it because I just rather buy the complete season instead.
I actually enjoyed the series. Sticky Fingaz the last 5 or so episodes was vastly improved from the first part of the season. He wasn't Snipes, but started to really get into the character. I thought the supporting cast was very strong for the series. My biggest complaint was that they would throw in stories/characters which would lead absolutely nowhere. Randy Quaid's character from the pilot is an example. His character was very interesting but we didn't see him again. The member's of Blades old gang came in for one episode and were gone, never to be seen again.
It did push the envelope BIG TIME when it comes to what was shown and said. Every cuss word other than the F-bomb was used and there were some pretty graphic scenes of carnage and sex for a show that was on a non-premium basic cable channel.
I will not pick this up. The full season perhaps.

couldn't get into the show. I was glad it was staked. loved the first two films. mixed about Trinity. Hated what I saw of the series.
