I absolutely loved Blade the series but why couldn't they have released the complete series initially... Oh well at least it's being released on DVD, here's hoping that another fantastic one-season wonder "Daybreak" gets the shiny disc treatment.
Shame it got cancelled because every episode gets better and better, Blade the series was also a superbly written show and I've since forgiven Goyer for Blade Trinity after this.
I couldn't agree more with LLcruize it's a shame that networks don't give quality shows like this a chance to develop an audience because Spike was really on to something here. It's also a shame that US viewers are so fickle and had they had the patience to stick with the show they would have realised how good it really is and perhaps earned the show a second season.
Anyway, I can't wait to see the full-blooded cut of the TV series... If house of Chthon is anything to go by that extra gore, sex and or swearing makes an already great show that little tiny bit better.
I also hope there's new extras and not just those found on House of Chthon .

I f---ing loved this show!! I am so thrilled that it will be released on DVD!! WOOO HOOO
Well, it definitely includes the pilot, as it is considered episodes 1 and 2 of 13. So, you get the pilot plus 11 episodes. The question is, will it include the bonus features from the House of Chthon DVD?
Is the pilot included in this set?

Yet you made the effort to click on the link and type inane nonsense. Thanks a bunch!!

After his bland turn in Trinity, the audience was better off.

I originally wrote this off as dumb. But then I watched my brother's copy of the original pilot movie that was released earlier and was pleasantly surprised. I think I will pick this up......

I gave up twenty minutes into the pilot...
I was hoping they would release this, it's a must get for me.
Looked ok. I never gave it a fair shot tho.

Same here. Although I did catch some parts and what I did see looked awesome. Hopefully the extras from the single disc earlier make it onto this set...it would be a shame otherwise.

show looks dumb and snipes is not in it.....
The series had excellent supporting characters/actors. I thought it was gaining some fantastic momentum. It fell victim to price and the quick trigger of today's market. Shows used to be able to have solid numbers and then be allowed to build on them. Not anymore. They want a homerun right out of the gate today. The series premiered strong, then dropped to steady viewership. I hate that it was not continued as there were some really cool concepts being worked on. I thought in the beginning that Sticky was trying to basically do a Snipes impersonation. When he finally started playing Blade as a character, not as an impersonation of another actor's characterization, he started to come into his own.
I would at least like to see a two part special that wraps up the series.

This series was useless. It stunk
Initially I didn't get past the first episode of this series, but when Spike reran the series later on, I gave it another go and watched it through to the end, and I gotta say when all was said and done, I enjoyed it and was disappointed when it was cancelled (especially the lame reason for it).
Anyway, I'm looking forward to this set and the price seems to be agreeable.

Um... if I did not like this show, will Definitive1 yell at me???
Anyway...
I was turned off immeditly by this series when I heard it had a guy named Sticky Fingaz. I don't know a thing about him, but I hate the name... sounds stupid.

well this is a surprise...lol
but seriously, the only reason i really stopped watching was that i had a c**ppy tv at the time and the picture was so ugly for this show....but i liked the few i did see so i'll probably get it and add to my collection of "one season shows". lol
without getting into spoilers, does anyone know if this actually had an ending or was it some sorta cliffhanger for a second season?

It's not something I'd pay for immediately, maybe when half the price. I'd certainly give it another shot on TV should it be aired again.
Good deal...I'm glad this was finally announced. Wonder what has taken so long. Being that it was a summer/fall 2006 show, you'd think they'd release it earlier this summer or something.
Anyway, it'll be nice viewing this on my new HDTV that I didn't have when it originally aired.
The "ashing" of vampires in this series was practically triple of what was done in the movies.
Yeah, it's ashame that SPIKE didn't give this another season especially after the psuedo cliff-hanger at the end.
It'll also be nice to see the unrated extended cuts of the episodes. And you always can't get enough of Jill Wagner nekkid. LOL!

Dug the show. They could have done so much with a second season, now guess it's just another in the long list of one season wonders that I love. The cover art could have been better, but I'll still definitely be picking this up.
It's really a shame that Spike TV was too cheap to give this a 2nd season. I have to admit the show started out really rough for me, but it gained alot of momentum and was one of the best summer shows in 2006. Jill Wagner (Mercury Girl) was a delight and Sticky Fingaz actually improved as Blade as the series went along.
