Ridley Scott re-teamed with Russell Crowe in a "Spy Game"-like espionage thriller also starring Leonardo DiCaprio? How can this NOT be great?! I know the reviews were tepid, but this will be a blind blu buy for me for sure!

He's a rare one, either he hits it out of the park or falls flat on his face. I'll check out the movie, eventually.

as much as i hate dicaprio this movie does look good and i think ill netflix this when it comes out
Hopefully they dont change that artwork. Poster usually works well.
the artwork looks good and I am a fan of both Russell and Leo so this might be a blind buy.
Boring, I hope the artwork changes. Looks like a Bourne cover.
Saw this in the theatres, not Ridley's best work. Recommend as a rental only.

I expected a lot out of this movie...and got jack squat in return. I'm one for political thrillers, but this was kinda boring and kinda convoluted. At the end of it, I felt like I should have taken a nap and read the Wiki instead.

You are not alone, my friend. You are not alone.

I liked it. will pick it up.
Didn't Scott claim he never wanted to work with Crowe after Gladiator again? But then he worked with him on 3 films since....
Ah the wonders of gossip and the internet...

I'm sure the guy he whacked with the telephone isn't too keen on him. I certainly don't because he has some great performances and movies to his name which I enjoy.

This is one of the rare cases where the slick twists and turns of an action drama actually made it less interesting instead of intense and unpredictable. I expected too much out of Body of Lies. The entire cast was awesome but the writing was poor. Shame. It should look good on Blu ray though. Not that I want to see it ever again.
I really enjoyed this one. It's a shame the movie tanked & the reviews are mixed. Very underrated. Anyways maybe i'll pick this one up.

Blu-ray rarely gets more extras, unless they're extras not compatible with DVD. Almost always the extras that are compatible with both get released on both.
Disc 2 is a Digital Copy so don't go expecting too many extras, sadly.

Missed this at the cinemas. I need to see this as I'm a fan of both actors and Ridley Scott.

Believe me, it wont! in that case your going to wait for all eternity. The buzz behind it is bad, too many bashed reviews it got. I don't see a reason for it being nominated....anywhere.

I thought it was very mediocre. Not particularly bad, but just not special in any way. There's been many, many films like this, and this one is nothing special. At least we're back to the status quo as far as modern Ridley Scott films go. Let's face it. The man has only made two legitimately good films in the past 23 years.
One of the worst films i've seen all year.
I enjoyed the film. It's solidly made, impecabbly acted, and consistently entertaining - even if it is a little forgettable. In some ways, it feels like a missed oppurtunity - but I can't point to any specific foibles. Crowe is amazing here, and Dicaprio does some great work too - even if he is essentially playing a toned-down, less interesting version of Billy Costigan.
I'll be getting the Blu-Ray.

Pretty good movie, certainly not Ridley Scotts best. I thought it had a true view of current situations and attitudes on all sides. But I thought Kingdom of Heaven did a even better job at that.
I'll watch anything with Ridleys name on it. The Duellists (His first big feature film) is still my favorite. Than again I enjoy pretty much every film of his.

This was a great movie. I'll buy the 2 disc version. But I'm only hoping that the 2 disc version gets a lot of features instead of the the blu ray getting all the exclusives. Being a Ridley Scott movie, there should a lot of features. But I hate the digital copy bulls**t.
I liked the film. Not the best from Ridley Scott and still it isn't one of his worst. The extras on any of his DVDs are usually good thanks to the same DVD producer being used for the discs of any Ridley or TOny Scott film.
If I didn't know any better I would have thought this film was directed by brother Tony. It just seemed to be more his style (i.e., Spy Game)...overall though, I thought it was good. Not anywhere near Ridley's top 5, for sure, but it's more than a decent thriller...
This film was a monumental letdown. The whole time, I was wishing that I were watching "Gladiator" or "The Departed" instead. Maybe worth a rental if you're a completist, but otherwise I'd pass.

What kind of thriller?
Go watch it, but its an espionage thriller. That to me didnt live up to the hype. Recommending Gladiator or Kingdom of Heaven for better Scott films.

Very good movie.A must buy!!!
This got a rather tepid critical reception when it came out at the box office. Think I'll make this one a rental.......

Saw it on the big screen, one of the best films I saw this year
Russell Crowe (yawn). His acting couldn't be more wooden if he was a tree. Makin' movies...Makin' songs. Fightin' 'round the world!
Might rent it.
Its still on at my local cinema, must make the trip soon before it vanishes.

Your right there Brad, I even enjoyed A good year which got a lot of flak. I'm also glad to see another Ridley commentary on it, they are one of my favourite dvd extras ever

I've heard mixed reports with this one. I'll see it though. Ridley Scott rarely fails.
