Hopefully more than what's on the DVDs.

Why do you say that?
The UE DVDs all have lots of extras. Annoyingly the European/Australasian DVDs only had the 5.1 remixes though and some were definitely had inferior PQ to the older SEs (Goldeneye for example) but most have much better PQ.
All I ask is a decent HD Remaster and please give everyone Mono/Stereo too this time.

I think all the previous remasters by Lowry were already made in 2K resolution, so they should translate perfectly to Blu-ray. Let's hope they put all the extra's on there as well. But sit it out and there will be a blu-ray Bond case somewhere next year probably, like the excellent suitcase box on DVD.
I'd be so surprised if the masters aren't based on the same ones used for the UE DVDs.
They'll be the same I'm sure since the HD transfers have already aired on TV around the time the UE discs came out.
They chose Die Another Day over Goldfinger or Diamonds Are Forever? Why oh why, Brosnan is the most boring bond of all, never liked Judi Dench in the role of M either.
I too can not believe that Goldfinger was not on that list.

They're having a hard time deciding if to call it now Blufinger

License to Kill
Goldeneye
Tomorrow Never Dies
The World is not Enough
I have Goldfinger and You Only Live Twice on the UE DVDs. I need to see them again before deciding if I want to upgrade. From Russia with Love is very good, but not quite a keeper. Dr. No is okay at best, the villain only appears right near the end.

I'm pretty sure they're replicating the DVD release order.
At least they're not giving us box sets only, like they did originally with the USA releases.

I'd argue that Diamonds Are Forever is down at the bottom of the pile with Die Another Day and Moonraker. I guess everyone has their favourites and their not-so-favourites.

It has been stated by MGM here in the states that these are brand news transfers. The story is on The Digital Bits, but I can't remember which day it was posted.
I doubt that very much, given that the whole point of remastering them for the UEs was to pave the way for Blu-ray. Sony knew Blu-ray was coming when they had these remastered. They already have recent HD Masters. I doubt they'll create them again, for no good reason (although some like Goldeneye should be remastered).
...especially as there is no PAL / NTSC issues to deal with
No french (language or subtitles) on those 6 films ?
Thanks
Thanks
Bit of a random assortment is it not? I know they can't release them all on BD as one collection, the cost would be ridiculous, then again, they should release it just before QoS comes out, so we buy it again down the line. Pigf**kers.
Don't waste your time buying this, especially if you have them already on UE DVD. Aside from Die Another Day, the HD transfers are incredibly tacky, and make the film look c**p.

We shall see when the reviews come out for the currently unreleased discs.
Why can't MGM even get the films in chronological order? The two Moore films are round the wrong way. But these random release sets are pointless, release them in the correct order!

considering there's a chance they'll never stop making Bond movies, box sets and fancy collections seem pointless, you'll always have to either rebuy or have some movies all alone. might as well just buy them individually.
but even though i'm not a fan at all, they've been playing on the HD channel here and color me impressed. even the older connery movies look so brand new. and they often play on regular channels at the same time so i can directly compare and wow...anybody who thinks hidef is some sorta gimmick, thats a good way to see how wrong you are.

I read a review for Dr No on BD and it was full of praise. Though I wonder if they corrected the colour error on Thunderball when the henchman gets fed to the sharks. The water should turn red, on the UE dvd it doesn't. There are other silly errors that need to be fixed with other movies too. Thats what explains the erratic release order I think.
I'm currently happy with my UE dvds, if I did invest in BD it would only be my real favourite Bonds I'd pick, Casino Royale, Goldeneye and the like. The Roger Moore commentaries are great aswell.

Real fans of the series would wait for a full movie box set including the new one around the corner...
The Bond movies have come out on every format known to mankind, and this is another for a system many have cynically labelled "transitory". Hell, who remembers when the Bond movies came out on the Phillips Selectavision - their own brand of laserdisc, which included all of the movies, even the recent A View to a Kill!
As almost a joke present, one of us bought the other an original, Warner Home Video 1st edition copy of Moonraker on VHS recently - proof that home viewing formats will always be on the move.
Anyway, bottom of the pile in the bond series are:
Moonraker
Diamonds are Forever
Thunderball
The Living Daylights.
No particular order, and many will protest about Tim Dalton's one being there, but this poorly-plotted, self-conscious mess was redeemed by the superb License To Kill.

Transitory to what?
Movin' on...
They call it transitory because the future seems to be that all movies will be downloaded over the internet and stored on a computer-based AV/entertainment system, with the purchasing of copies from a shop a thing of the past.
B*llocks, innit?

Great to see another Dalton/Licence To Kill supporter
I think the Blu Ray box is a stupid, stupid idea. Surely most fans want them all together, not random titles just thrown together? Daft.

Well, as Bond is always being set-upon by henchmen, and we played a couple of Tim's henchmen in Hot Fuzz, it puts us in an odd position where we love License To Kill, yet have the strange urge to see the henchmen come out on top for once - whilst also not wanting to see our old boss done in.
It's a funny old game...

You were in the film?
Anyone know if these BRs have the original sound mixes on and burnt-in subs?
And by the way, fpas, the UEs were remastered at 4K I believe.
