Excellent! MGM keeps getting better and better with the James Bond Blu-ray releases! I'll definitely be getting the Bond Blu-ray box sets as I can't wait to add the first 20 Bond films right next to my Casino Royale Blu-ray!

As nominal fan, I'm happy to see that my two favs, From Russia with Love and Thunderball, are going to be part of this first run.
They better have the 1.0/2.0 original audio too and not just lossless 5.1 (which is bound to be included). Like the R1 and R2J DVDs, but not elsewhere.
too expensive! Bluray is still in the early stages to upgrade all DVDs.

Yes. You are possibly correct. I'm going to wait till prices go down.

I upgraded from the original SE Dvds to the UE collection. I justified that for the superb jump in picture quality, especially for Connery's entries.
I watched YOLT the other night on my PS3 with DTS and it was superb. I just don't see how that picture could get any better.
So I won't be tempted by BD except for Casino Royale.

Finally. I'll definitely buy it to go with my Casino Royale BD and hopefully it'll tie me over until the next sets come out.

Blu-ray is superior to even the best DVD transfer given source material of equal quality.

I would have to agree that HD video will be better than SD, regardless of upconversion (if you compare the same source)...
As for this, I'm happy with the four UE volumes, and might only get Casino Royale (2006) on blu-ray when I get Iron Man in blu-ray and the PS3...

Will be picking up both Box + the new Casino Royale BD

I guess thats why your the webmaster Chris and I'm just a lowly poster
I understand where you and Blue are coming from. But for now I can't get full 1080p on my TV so it might not be worth it.
I'm just trying to talk myself out of buying them really.

I like how the cover arts has the same theme to it.
I'll be picking up Casino Royale for sure, not sure about these.

I'll end up picking a few of these up, starting with FOR YOUR EYES ONLY (my favorite bond film).
Dr.No, Goldfinger, Thunderball, Goldeneye and Casino Royale are my favorites. Unfortunately Blu-Ray still costs too much and so do the disks. Plus once or twice a year every Bond film is played on TV. So they almost are not worth picking up. Can't wait to see Quantum of Solace!
Funniest one liner with a leading lady at the end: The World Is Not Enough.
"I think he got the point."

Absolutely hideous cover art. Grotesque, in fact.
The original poster art hasn't been used for home video since the early 90s, so it would actually look really fresh now.

Fingers crossed that all the extras make it over....

Statisically true, but if the human eye doesn't notice a difference, then it's not an issue. A LOT of my DVDs played through a upconvert look as good as the Bluray version. Of course my TV is only 720, when I go 1080 or bigger (than 32"
then I should notice a difference. But for people in my boat, upgrading DVDs is not necessary.

This will finally be my chance to get the Bond Collection. I always passed on big box sets on DVDs for some reason.

Same here...but I will pass of the skimp on the extras.

People must have really poor TVs if they are unable to see the difference between HD and SD.
Anyway as I still haven't got round to watching the UE DVDs I will wait until the new Blu-Ray editions of the films are released. I wonder how long it will be until the super-duper UE Blu-Rays come out.

Worth it, but worth waiting till the prices go down.
Could someone clarify what errors were on some of the Ultimate Editions? It has something to do with incorrect aspect ratio and colour issues I think. And if so will the BDs correct this.
Some of this Dvd talk goes over my head. Swooosh.

I love the Die Another Day art

That's the one reason why I'm in no rush to upgrade to BD. Not to mention that I already have a quite large DVD collection. It'd be different if I very seldom bought DVDs and rented most of the time, but in the 7 years of collecting, I'm in the 1600+ disc club. So until the BD hardware and software get down in price to near current DVD prices, both new and bargain bin prices, I'm staying put with my DVDs. I hate it, that once again, we're all being bit by the planned obsolecence of one media format for another, but what is one to do?

The only Bond movie I currently have is Casino Royale on SD-DVD. I'll definitely take the plunge with these, somewhere down the line......
is the list of extras same as on the UE 2DVD editions ???
Very tempting, but I already have the Ultimate boxsets and these are very expensive...
These covers are so badly photoshopped, especially the cover for 'LIVE AND LET DIE', the covers for the UEs were much better with the black banners.
