The Boris Karloff Collection (US - DVD R1)
Universal has sent over details on a new collection featuring the horror icon
Title: The Boris Karloff Collection (IMDb: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
Starring: Boris Karloff
Released: 19th September 2006
SRP: $29.98
Further Details:
Universal Home Video has sent over details for The Boris Karloff Collection, a three-disc boxset of five films starring the legendary horror icon Boris Karloff, which will be available on the 19th of September at a retail price of around $29.98. The films contained in the set are: Night Key (1937), Tower of London (1939), The Climax (1944), The Strange Door (1951), and The Black Castle (1952). Each of the five films in the set will be presented in their original aspect ratio of 1.33:1 and contain an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono audio track along with English and French subtitles. At this time the only extra material appears to be theatrical trailers for Night Key and The Climax, but we'll let you know if that changes. For now, we have attached the artwork for the set along with menus for each of the films included.

cool!
Sounds good. A lot of these were shown at Film Forum for their week long Karloff tribute. Too bad that the Bogdonavich one which I think is called "Moving Targets" isn't among them. He was there for the movie's screening, but I was seeing Somersault uptown of the FF.

Targets is available from Paramount and can be had for $10 or less at most retailers.

Oddly enough, the so-called "Bela Lugosi" collection had better Karloff films. *L* Anyway, this is going to be good; I've only seen TOWER OF LONDON, so I'm looking forward to the others. As mentioned, TARGETS is available, and Karloff's finest film performances (that don't involve his having bolts in his neck), BEDLAM and THE BODY SNATCHER, are out from Warners.

I must get this, as Karloff is one of my all time favorite horror stars
Certainly 'minor' Karloff roles. With few of the really famous films.
I haver a load of his on VHS duped off TV, but none of these titles so I may pick it up cheap.

Cool collection, but I really dislike that artwork.
