Universal Home Video has sent over details on the Bourne Identity Collection which includes the standard retail releases of The Bourne Identity, and The Bourne Supremacy. This new package will be available to own from the 24th July, and should set you back around $22.98. As well as the two films - the set will include a bonus disc. This will include a Who Was Robert Ludlum? documentary, a Ludlum Supremacy featurette, and a Ludlum Ultimatum featurette. We've attached the package artwork below:

I already have the first two movies on DVD but if I didn't have them yet then I'd just wait and get the complete collection...
why make a two film collection when the third one is coming this summer?

Might as well wait until the fourth movie, The Bourne Legacy, is made. I never got the appeal of these films anyway. Not interested in the slightest.

While I wouldn't pick up this set, the documentaries sound interesting and I hope this disc will be included in the eventual trilogy set.
Having said that, I understand Damon and the producers are hoping to stretch this series beyond the trilogy of books. As I understand it, the films haven't really bothered about being too faithful to the books anyway.

That's Universal Studios for ya. They did this same type of thing with the Fast and the Furious films when the third was about to be released. I'm sure there have been others, too. Like those, this release is not needed, but I'm not surprised they're doing this.
The first film is the only one that followed its respective novel. The second, from what I read about it and what I was told, did not. Sounds like that will be the case for the third as well.

I just love how it's called the Bourne IDENTITY Collection. Basically saying the BOURNE Collection (all 3) is coming by the end of the year.
Seriously guys, chill out. This happens for every major franchise that releases a sequel. If we got this worked up every time it happened, we'd all be on our 7th pacemaker by now. There's a heck of a lot of big-budget sequels coming out this summer in huge franchises, so probably best learn to start living with these kind of cash-ins sooner rather than later eh?

Oh I've accepted it, I'm not buying this or anything, I just like pointing out how the companies are predictable and too greedy for their own good. They still have to release the "Franchise" Collection pack, the fun's not over yet.

How about real SE's of the movies Universal? I've been holding off buying them and will continue holding off until there is something that will knock my socks off.

Well. Clearly everyone hates this. I knew it was coming and I've been waiting to buy it. Unlike some people, I don't care if a studio cashes in on me if I can see it coming a mile away. If it has a ticket to Bourne 3 then I'm definitely sold.
I'd rather be seeing a Identity HD-DVD personally.
Talk about milking the poor consumer - don't touch this with a 200 foot pole and wait for the 3 movie set.
The ironic thing is the Identity SE was anything but Special, in most people's opinion it's inferior to the original DVD. Way to go!
Completely Pointless! Until the 3rd movie comes out on DVD there should be no releases like this. Hollywood double dipping turds.
