Don't like that artwork one bit. The original poster satisfied me.
But very excited about seeing this. Missed in theaters.

@matt86:
Another film with a sense of urgency and deadline this year would most definitely be Inception. I wish they had gone with the poster for the artwork on this one, but what matters is the film itself which is unbelievable to say the least.

I wanted to see this really bad, but I don't think I ever saw anything saying when it's widest release date was. Probably wasn't showing anywhere near me. I happen to shy away from renting films due to various reasons, but I'll venture out to see this whenever it hits.

One mentioned a similar type of film 127 hrs. Its funny too i noticed a timeline, a sense of urgency in a lot of recent films. The next three days, 127 hours, buried, due date, unstoppable. I know there may be one more recent one but i couldnt help but notice it. There is a deadline
I saw it at the Toronto International Film Festival. It's a very different film, let alone thriller, since Reynolds almost literally gives a solo performance as Paul, a US contractor in Iraq, who's buried alive in a coffin. The only other characters are ones he talks to on a cell phone he has and a few that briefly appear on a video he watches. The film's very good. Everyone involved makes the situation really believable and claustrophobic. Paul is definitely likable and the film has some humour when he's on the cell phone, which I chuckled at. The character development is touching, but it's kind of predicable. There are just a few other minor flaws I won't get into. The film is suspenseful when it wants to be and pretty devastating. It has to be seen to be believed.
During the Q&A with some of the crew, I asked if the opening credits were inspired by the same opening credits in Hitchcock's Psycho. They denied it, although they said one of the posters was at least somewhat inspired by one from Vertigo. That I certainly don't doubt.
I won't be buying it because I'd rather buy the Blu-ray of 127 Hours, a kind of similar film and honestly one of my favourites. I also certainly wouldn't mind seeing that film again on the big screen.

Loved this. Will be buying.
That's crazy. I know it'd obviously be safe and all but regardless, it seems like a ridiculous idea. I don't think I could do it. Thinking about that situation makes me claustrophobic enough. To actually be WATCHING the movie while buried. I don't think I could do that..
Yeh this and catfish never expanded as big as they should have so i will definitly rent this. I wanted to see it pretty bad and catfish especially. I just hope i see 127 hours before the dvd is announced too.
Yeah haha, it was a legit contest. I thought it sounded like an awesome way to watch the movie. Would really amp up the claustrophobia and tension. They had medical staff and workers monitoring the winners the whole time.
Yea I hate the cover also I wonder what extras will be on the dvd since not everyone yet has a blue ray player and that includes me . As for KSmith5393 question on the buried contest yes it was real contest and a strange one at that what people will go through to see a movie still amazes me to this day Just check this link out and y will see for yourself .

I never saw Buried, but I really wanted to. I signed up for a competition where 4 winners would get to be buried underground in coffins while they watched an advanced showing on screens attached to the inside of the coffin lid. I didn't win though.
Are you joking or was that a real contest? That does not seem like a good idea in the slightest.

This never came to Morgantown, as far as I noticed. Probably would have shown at the independent Warner Theater downtown, had it still been open (they shut down Labor Day weekend). Will have to rent this.

The artwork is bland. I like the more artful posters it had, like that Vertigo-esque poster.

I like it too. Wasn't a bad film. Don't know if it'd sit through it more than once.

I couldn't disagree more. I think the GL trailer looks amazing.

Interesting choice for the "sexiest man alive" looking forward to renting this.

Worst. Art. EVER. This movie had some of the best poster art this year, what the hell are they thinking with this?
I really wanted to see this. I'm sure he's absolutely brilliant in this role if the trailer is any indication.
I hate the artwork, though. The poster would've been a better choice.
