The disc will be available to own from the 14th October, and should retail at around $19.95. We have no word on extra material for this one right now, but we'll bring you further details shortly. Love this movie and I'll upgrade regardless of the special features. A true '70s guilty pleasure. Speaking of '70s guilty pleasures, when the hell is Fox gonna get around to releasing Damnation Alley on DVD???
The seeds of conspiracy were planted very early on and for a while this movie had me questioning everything. Interestingly enough I believe I heard they remaking this movie. Timing is everything, isn't it?
I like the cover, except that it looks more like the moon than Mars.
This would be an awesome remake, as long as they didn't try to hype it up with "Was the moon landing faked?" All those claims have been debunked, and it would be really low for Hollywood to bring that up again just to sell tickets.
What I wouldn't mind seeing though, is a History Channel documentary on why people thought the moon landing was fake, and why they were wrong. If this movie gets remade I'm pretty sure they'll do something like that.

I suppose one could argue that it's supposed to be like that since it's suggesting it's fake...but it looks to me like a mistake in the cover art. Wouldn't the point of that cover be to make the negative space look real, and only the reflection show it's fake?

Agreed. And, it features one of the innovative chase sequences on film: the bi-plane crop duster vs. Hughes 500 helicopter gunships. Always enjoyed that Peter Hyams action sequence.

Other mistakes: The astronaut is wearing a Space Shuttle mission patch, and the clap-board's writing is not reversed even though it's seen in the reflection on the visor.
I've got the first dvd release, but will gladly upgrade for anamorphic. Now if only they'd re-release Arrival.

When I briefly worked on the street team for a conservative talk radio station, a woman came up to the booth and claimed this movie was true because it's sponsored or made with the cooperation of NASA.
I liked this when I saw it on Turner Classic Movies a few years back. I might pick it up.
