FINALLY!
Purchase from day one!

I have the HD DVD of this, which actually has a commentary by Tim Burton! There was no commentary for the DVD releases of this film. Hopefully this will be ported over to this Blu-Ray along with the In-Movie Experience feature and the rest of the stuff that also appeared on the 2-disc DVD set. This is a wonderful film btw. I can easily watch this two times in a row. Johnny Depp is perfect as Willy Wonka!

You just reminded me. Didn't the HD DVD have extra scenes inserted back into the film or something? I wonder if they'll have that on the Blu-ray...

The last of the HD-DVD's to go blu
Finally this and Van Helsing are going blu, I hope this and Van Helsing would play on my BD player in the states, I really don't want to wait for these titles!
Warner and Universal don't code their Blu-rays.
Just wondering Chris...
So Warner and Universal don't code their Blu-rays.
How about Fox, Paramount, Columbia and Disney?
P.S. Have I missed any majors?

Paramount don't. Fox used to religiously code everything from new releases to 20 year old films, but have started doing some multi-regional titles lately (you need to check individually). Sony (haven't been Columbia for ages) only usually code new films, but even then most aren't coded. The vast majority of their titles are all region. Disney are a mixed bag. Most high profile releases are coded, but some of their titles aren't (the first two Pirates films weren't, the third was).
The only three to be sure of are Warner, Universal and Paramount - basically the three that supported HD DVD. Some of the minors also code irregularly (Lionsgate spring to mind - you need to check individual titles). Of course it's different all over the world depending on who's releasing a film, so you can usually get everything from somewhere if you're prepared to pay. Basically it's a right mess!

Is the same artwork as the SD DVD, isn't it? Might upgrade when it's cheap...I think the chocolate smelling cards that came with mine still smell...
Not a bad film but not worth the upgrade for me.
