So do I. This better be one of those fox titles that wind up being region free.
Hopefully this will be released overseas.
FOX is such a selfish company. region code their stuff even when they are not even released overseas
Those b*****ds!

I can't wait for this! I hope it's not grainy or anything like Dog Soldiers and Ghostbusters was.
got the dvd version of this release last year at best buy for 5 bucks, probably just going to stick with that

if the dvd release of this version last year is anything to go bye, the picture should be pretty good. because the dvd was a big improvement over the first dvd release so i can only imagine the blu-ray will be better.
figures this comes now though, and its nice to see they kept all the extras....but alas, i went and bought the dvd last year. lol

Are you being serious??? that dvd was c**p, even the case looked cheap. It was brand new "vhs" quality with text special features. this on the other hand is what ive wanted as a fan for years

Ummm... S1JJ, you do know they put out an Anniversary Edition DVD with restored anamorphic widescreen and many special features, right? I'm assuming you're thinking about the original Pan & Scan DVD.

Admittedly, I have heard that Ghostbusters was not mastered properly and they could have gotten a transfer with less grain if Sony didn't suck, but erasing grain is bad.
This will probably be another terrible rip-off of a Blu-Ray like The Graduate and Road House, where the Blu-Ray is just the movie and no bonus features, and you'll have to watch the standard-def DVD to view any of the special features.
Also, the list of featurettes is inaccurate: "Evil Comes in Small Packages" is listed twice, for one thing, and it's comprised of the featurettes "The Birth of Chucky", "Creating the Horror" and "Unleashed". Also, I'm not positive, but "The Advantages of Being Chucky", "Chucky on Filmmaking" and "Up Close and Personal With Chucky" are probably Chucky's isolated scene commentaries. The last two, "Chucky's Back B***hes" and "Designer Toy" may be new featurettes there wasn't room for on the DVD, though.

Where did you hear that about Ghostbusters? Was it from a reliable source or just internet b*****ks from that bloke on DVDTalk's forums? Ghostbusters was always grainy and the BD just shows it more clearly than the DVD. The filmmakers seem to think it looks okay. I can't believe I'm defending Sony, but they're one of the more consistent studios when it comes to all-round quality.

Back under your bridge, Mr. Troll.

It would be nice to have a box set - but from memory don't other studios own the other instalments?

"Chucky’s Thoughts", "The Advantages of Being Chucky", "Chucky on Filmmaking" and "Up Close and Personal with Chucky" are indeed part of the select scene Chucky commentaries. "The Birth of Chucky", "Creating the Horror" and "Unleashed - Chucky: Building a Nightmare" are part of the "Evil Comes in Small Packages" making of documentary. And "Chucky’s Back B***hes", "Designer Toy" and "Evil Comes in Little Packages" are the names of the easter eggs found on the dvd. So, no new special features for the blu-ray.

I hope they do the rest of them. Though, the first is my favourite.
That's up to Universal, not MGM/Fox.
