Jack Nicholson is private eye Jake Gittes, living off the murky moral climate of sunbaked, pre-war Southern California. Hired by a beautiful socialite (Faye Dunaway) to investigate her husband's extra-marital affair, Gittes is swept into a maelstrom of double dealings and deadly deceits, uncovering a web of personal and political scandals that come crashing together for one, unforgettable night in...Chinatown. Co-starring film legend John Huston and featuring an Academy Award®-winning script by Robert Towne, Chinatown captures a lost era in a masterfully woven movie that remains a timeless gem.

The SCE from a few years ago had:
-Chinatown: The Beginning and The End featurette.
-Chinatown: The Legacy featurette
-Chinatown: Filming featurette
-Theatrical trailer
and the original DVD had: Retrospective interviews with Roman Polanski, Robert Towne, and Robert Evans.
I guess these aren't being ported over?

October seems a perfect time to get it into the DVD player. And I'll be holding on to my SCE from awhile back, just in case its extras aren't ported over.
Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown.
This movie was made in 1909?

Second that...I've already double-dipped on the DVD.

The cover art is not amazing. The original DVD from way back had original poster art, and that was great. This art sucked when it showed up on the re-issues of the old disc and the SCE, and it still sucks now. Sepia-toning it doesn't change a thing.
Why are they putting it out on DVD again when they did a DVD release not too long ago?!
