well, not a good movie, but the 2disc edition looks great!, but on the 1 disc(mmm)i think letters are extremetely bigger
The book is so much better but i'll proberly wait till it's cheap
They gotta revise the 1-disc edition, seriously, no question. The font and the size of the writing "walt disney..." and "the lion, the witch..." is AWFUL. Besides, they used the poster art for the videogame cover. Wouldn't people get confused? The 2-Disc art is good though. Plus, it's a really great movie. I thought I'd hate it cos I normally hate British movies even though I am British.
I just hope the 2-disk has decent extras and not Potter-like extras. I have a feeling it will be, but here is hoping they don't.
My suggestion to Disney; put games and "kiddie" stuff on the first disk and allow the scond disk to have content for persons over 14

I really wanted to see this one and I didn't get a chance to. I like the single-disc art and not the two-disc art.
It's still out, Tony. I'm sure you have at least a month left to see it.
I'll rent this - I avoided in theaters because of its overtly Christian overtones...and please don't start an unending debate with me over that statement. I don't care if you are Christian...I am not. Period. But I normally love this type of fantasy movie so I'll rent it and be done with it.
Wow, Disney took a leaf from Warner's book and decide to do a barebones and 2-disc edition simultaneous release at the same time. Still nice for Disney to give fans the option.
They still need to shrink the font used for the title on the barebones disc. The art for the 2-disc is so much better. Haven't seen the movie or read the book.

I remember our 4th grade teacher reading us this in school. I couldn't stand it. Probably still couldn't although I'd give the movie a rent to test the theory.
YaY! I'm happy they sticked with that art, I'm not too sure about the 2-disc art though :S .. Still havent seen this, I was going to but I saw the family stone instead, but ill definately buy this one, it one of those you just have to own.
Awesome movie! I'll be getting this one for sure.
love the cover of the 2-disc release...unfortunetly this movie was horrible.
they'll change the one disc... they have to add a banner and a quote.

Not necessarily. Disney is pretty good with their releases.

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE (2005)
I have yet to see the movie, mabey I will go today because its snowing and cold and a perfect day to hit the theater. I heard it was good. The covers are pretty ugly, I hope they are not final.

excellent fantasy film... the whole biblical aspect isn't nearly as distracting as many have mentioned, so definetly do not avoid seeing it due to something as trivial as that.

C.S. Lewis wrote the books in this order
1. Lion, Witch, Wardrobe
2. Horse And His boy
3. Prince Caspian
4. Voyage Of The Dawn Treader
5. Silver Chair
6. Last Battle
7. Magician's Nephew
You'll often see Magician's Nephew first because chronologically, it takes place first but was written last and that's how it was intended to be. I think that Disney is skipping over Horse and His Boy and going right to Prince Caspian. Technically Lion Witch Wardrobe is first in the series, but not chronologically.

That movie is so much better than the book! Looking forward to it.
Great arts, especially the 2-Disc. Might as well add a Roger Ebert quote to the first, or any quote for that matter. The first feels its too clustered, and then empty, all at once.
I've heard a hell of a lot about this film and personally, I'm p**sed that it's outgrossing King Kong right now. Definitely a view.

i'm glad it's out grossing that pretentious monkey. I hope they put a isolated 5.1 score on there
The order of the seven books is askew depending on which box set you have. The order of my my box set is the following:
1. The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe
2. Prince Caspian
3. Voyage of the Dawn Treader
4. The Silver Chair
5. Horse and His Boy
6. Magician's Nephew
7. The Last Battle
One of my friends can't understand why the order is the way it is with my collection. It really doesn't matter anyway, as they are just collecting dust in my closet. I only got through Prince Caspian back in 1999...
Anyway, I wanted to see this movie, but went to King Kong instead. I've been limiting myself to one movie per month because of college and other obligations, so this will have to be my free April rental. This month's movie to see at the theater is Underworld: Evolution. Next Friday, baby!!

And yes, Disney has greenlit the production of Prince Caspian and is slated for release in 2008.

So you're going to rent it and 'be done with it' even though you don't want to see it because of its overtones? Why even bother with it and rent something you're going to be happy about seeing instead? Watching the movie isn't an obligation you have to Disney you know.

Ugh, bland movie. And that one-disc artwork is... overcrowded and empty all at once.
Well I really enjoyed the movie, and the 2 disc artwork matches the 2 disc soundtrack (etc). Single disc cover looks bad, but I'll get the 2 disc. Really enjoyable, especially if you remember the "other" movies made, we had to watch one in fourth grade...the beaver was an overblown pinecone....
I'm surprised they aren't making a slipcover of the wardrobe that opens up (a la "Jumanji", or their Plantinum Editions).

Typical...Christian stuff gets panned, but torture movies like Hostel are A-OK. Not saying you like those either, but I just find it hypocritical that films with themes that are holsom with good messages are hated amongst the Hollywood Liberal Elites, but horror movies that are bloodfests are loved.
And don't even get me started on "Brokeback Mountain". The movie's only made ~$30 Million and Kong has made around ~$450 Million and they're calling Kong a failure.

Kong cost $200 million to make plus marketing. Brokeback Mountain had a $14 million budget and has an outside shot at grossing $100 million domestically. So in the sense of pure profit margin, Brokeback's probably going to be considered the "success." Kong has still turned a profit and is a very good film.
I don't dislike Narnia because of its Christian overtones (though I did raise an eyebrow at gun-runner Santa Claus). I thought it was bland because I didn't care about any of the characters, there was a get-out-of-jail-free card introduced that eliminated any sense of danger for the characters, and even the eye-candy was sub-par. The wolves were embarassing and Aslan seemed to be in a different movie.
P.S. Hostel was trash
