^^^ Yeah I read that too.
Yeah, this seems a little bare-bones for a Kevin Smith flick.
Actually a bigger fan of this one than the original. Must Buy.
And they definitely need the "With No Power Comes No Responsibility" Tagline there.

I too read this is was supposed to be 2 disc.
I'm somewhat disappointed by the cover. I don't really care that Fred Topel thought that it was the funniest movie since Wedding Crashers. And I really don't like how it seems that Rosario Dawson has more emphasis than the original Clerks characters. I'll still buy it, even if there is no 2 disc. But if one comes later, I will definately double dip.

I missed this in theaters, so this is a definite rent. Kevin Smith is hilarious and I have heard great things about this.
this movie is great, very funny. Defintely very different from the original but still a good take on the characters and their situation. The cover art is terrible though.
It should be 2 discs. a Ninety Minute documentary & commentary and according to Smith "The Best 10 Wrecks" from Clerks II's website, and a bonus disc at retailers with a "sh*tload of other Wrecks.
I was at least hoping for optional slip covers, sorta like what they did with Sin City. But nope; leave it to the Hollywood execs to splash Rosario Dawson around some more.
Still a great movie and a must buy for the LOTR/Star Wars bit alone.

This movie ruled. Single disc or double disc or double dip or whatever, Kevin's got my money.
Great Movie. A must buy for sure. Will there be a Jersey Quad pack? Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Clerks 2? ( yes I'm ommiting Dogma and Jersey Girl...
kevin smith is going to ass rape all of his fans, of course. yes, they're all going to empty their pockets on this verson of it, then a few months later on a deluxe edition. just like "sin city." I don't know how these directors can keep such loyal fans when they're constantly pulling s**t like this.
plus...the movie kind of sucked. kevin smith isn't nearly as clever as he thinks he is. it's all been downhill after "chasing amy" and I don't think he'll ever make another good movie.

I'm taking it back!
I see an error. Where it says November 28 at the top, it says December 5 in the press release. Which one is it?

A little disappointing that this won't be a two disc edition, as this is my favorite movie of the year thus far. As good, if not better, than the original, a very funny and surprisingly heartfelt movie. Will definitely pick this up.
great movie but could have done without the bestiality. if I want to see all that i'll just do a google search
You didn't see anything. It's not like he was sucking the donkey off.
I was so mad I didn't get to see this in the theater! It was gone after a week! But I will definitely buy this.
um... I think it's going to be a bare bones release and then 6 months down the line then it will have the deluxe directors version. Then Christmas 2007 will see the complete jersey saga 7 disc box set with never before seen content. It's only natural that the fan be cleaned out with at least 3 version of one movie. Heck if Peter Jackson can do it then so can kevin smith.
also, I don't see how people could say that this one is as good, let alone better than the original. the first one at least had some originality and satire, as opposed to the trite story line filled with stupid fanboy humor that made up the sequel.
I watched this just recently and found it hilarious. Havent seen the original in a long time (didnt see all of it either) and this was really funny/over the top. Need to pick up all the Jersey movies...

Well, I think most "loyal fans" of Sin City knew before the first DVD even came out that there would be an SE. I did. Knew for a fact, as Robert Rodriguez mentioned it in interviews while it was still in theatres...
Beyond that, have Kevin Smith's films actually all been released multiple times?
Chasing Amy wasn't, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back wasn't, Dogma was after a year, Clerks and Mallrats were released at the beginning of the DVD age and so were barebones, and took 5 and 6 YEARS respectively to be re-released. So, er, what's the reasoning behind a second edition in a "few months" exactly?

Since DVD became the dominant home video format the marketing has changed quite a bit and is completely different from when those discs came out, and especially when it concerns a new release film.

Great movie that I'll be buying- but what's with the WEDDING CRASHERS quote? It's so out of place.
I haven't gotten around to seeing this yet but I loved the first one. I'll buy the DVD for sure and either blind buy it or watch it at a second run theater in a few weeks.
Kevin Smith has COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN what it was like to be a clerk. Which I can understand considering the money he has made in the last 13 years, but he shouldn't have gone back to this concept. It's far too foreign for him. He just can no longer relate to it. This shouldn't have even been called Clerks 2, I think "Aging Douchebags Who Sit Around Talking About Cocks" would have worked better because there are only 2 scenes where they actually encounter customers!!! Don't get me wrong I have always been a Kevin Smith fan, I enjoy ALL of his films up to and including Jersey Girl! As he himself called the film in his video diaries, it was just a complete train wreck! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE!!!
Since Wedding Crashers? LOL.
I really liked it, granted, not as much as the original, but it was a lot of fun. Even my non-Smith-fan friends enjoyed it.
I'm gonna wait till they release the 2-disc edition. I did that with Sin City and it paid off big time.

Have I just been punched in the f**king balls? funniest flick since Wedding Crashers?!?! what the hell is this nonsense? the cover is lost in comparison to its predecessor which retained a certain bleak wit about it, the tagline should be the quote from that critic who walked out in Cannes! 2disc will be released later no doubt.
