I rather enjoyed this flick...I'll probably pick it up...though it probably won't be the same on a considerably smaller screen...

i heard the blu-ray might be a barebone edition because they created all these extras for the HD version but since that format is dead, they wouldnt have time to redo em all for blu-ray so instead of delaying, they will release a bare version first. i surely hope this isnt true but i wouldnt be surprised.
Here are the eastereggs for anyone interested:

Am I the only one who didn't "get" the craze about this flick? It had an interesting plot, but it looked terribly lame.
Damn it! I was hoping for a 2-disc special edition or an unrated cut. Bloody-Disgusting reported that a lot of footage was cut to get a PG-13 and that the filmmakers originally wanted a hard R rating. I smell a double-dip coming down the line.
Same here with the 2-Disc!!!
This is one of the BEST Movies of 08 (next to Be Kind Rewind) and I will SURELY Pick this up!!!

I'm probably alone on this....but this is one of the worst movies that I have ever seen.
I was gonna see this, but then I heard about that motion sickness thing. How bad is it?

You get dizzy the first 30 minutes and feel like you're going to throw up. But then the next hour you don't remember it.

Hmmmm.... is one of the feats. on the viral marketing? If so, I hope they use the pics I took in central park back in early August! I would be so happy
I don't get motion sickness, but this one did give me a headache by the time it was over. I would rather have seen the movie from a 3rd person perspective.
This is yet another movie where the hype greatly overshadowed the film itself. The marketing for this movie was very well done, and the movie itself.....just "ehhhh". Wasn't the worst I'd ever seen, but it wasn't the best either.
I saw artwork that was supposedly going to be used for the DVD release. It looked amazing and really stuck with the realism of the film...unfortunately, this is not it. I like this cover art, though...however, I am getting sick of the same image everywhere.
i knew they were going to use the poster for the artwork on the dvd. and there is also a collectors edition steelbook of the film which will have more special features on it
The 'leaked' artwork was way better.
The steelbook will be an FYE and Suncoast exclusive.
By far the greatest movie I have seen this year. I am defiantly getting this.

Not at all man I was excited for this film concerning all the hype on the internet then when I saw it it turned out to be the biggest dissapointment of 2008 so far but I dont think anything can compare to how awful this was.

i still haven't forgiven my girlfriend for dragging me to see this horrid piece of overhyped ****.
best part of the evening (besides watching how many people were walking out half way through) was looking my girlfriend dead in the face when it was over telling her, "Told you so."

Saw this last week and it was glorious. The hype scared me but I ended up loving it. This release seems a little lackluster...I loved what IGN had as their wishlist for this movie (http://dvd.ign.com/articles/846/846889p1.html).
Cloverfield had maybe one scene I liked, and it was way too short. The movie was incredibly boring, I watched The Blair Witch Project last night and couldn't get up to turn my tv off. I'll stick with my Gamera collection.
Also, in my newspaper the quote on the Cloverfield ad said, "You won't want it to end" I completely agree it was only an hour long.

Cloverfield and The Blair Witch Project are both excellent films, because they don't just rely on their gimmick, but throw in a lot more that one wouldn't have expected. This film's maybe the best time I've had at a theater (saw this at midnight when it opened, mind you).
Definitely picking it up.

Glad they kept the poster for the cover art.
Good poster.
Erm, cover art, I mean.
I'll buy this one. I enjoyed it.

great movie!!! saw it twice!!!
Terrorists attacked the DVD cover!
oh the irony...
many people (myself included) often complain when they dont use the theatrical poster art for DVD...and now here's a movie that does, but people are still complainin...lol

I liked the movie, don't think it'll be as cool watching it at home though.
great movie, a must buy.
I'm thrilled that they used the poster art and put the title at the top of the cover, both exactly as I hoped they would.
The only other thing I'm hoping for when the final artwork comes out (aside from the correct font stylization and size) is that the front cover continues over onto the sleeve like many releases do--this way the DVD will have that unique torquoise flavor when I put it amidst all the rest of my collection.
I don't know what the odds of that happening are, though.

I nearly fell asleep watching this stinker. Pass.
