I don't see what you should be upset about. Other than appearing in boxsets, the last time Fox released this on DVD was in 1999...eight years ago. It's not like they just released it last year and are already making another trip to the well with some slightly better uber-edition. At least it's anamorphic this time.

Now we need to get a "True Lies" special edition.
Yes, I agree with Matt. I was a click away from importing the R4 or R2 simply for anamorphic enhancement. I am SOOO glad I didn't. I watch this movie so much with friends because we always laugh at how funny and action-packed it is. I can't believe we are finally getting a special edition. Even without great extras like commentary, director's cut, deleted scenes and featurettes, this is a must double-dip simply for anamorphic image AND never before remixed 5.1 audio!
Will this be the same edition that is coming out on R2 in the "Definitve edition" steelbook series? I sure hope so!
A Director's Cut? F**K YEAH!!!!!!
this has just made my day!
"Bennet! I though you were..."
"Dead. You thought wrong."

Hell yeah! DC is only 5 minutes longer but I never owned this to begin with, so I'll pick it up now for sure.
But to echo Slither Thru's comment, where is that TRUE LIES special edition???

ok maybe this is a worthy a double dip. Just never seen the old edition cause its on tv so much i never bought it. But, where is the steelbook or lenticular cover? That may make me bite.
Damn. I'll buy this. Never seen it before.
so 5mins longer? maybe it'll be even more violent..that would be swell.....and i'm glad i never bought this, even when seeing it for as low as 8.99 ...i held back go me...lol
of course if this sells well, i bet there will be a triple dip with better extras but oh well..lol

Sounds good to me!

I desperately need to add this to my fledgling Schwarzeneggar collection....
This just made my day.
I'm happy.
wasnt there a true lies special edition in the works like 3 or 4 yrs ago? whatever happened to that?
Kill Arnold, Kill!

Yep, this just made my day. I'll definately get this and here's hoping that a True Lies SE is on the way. If Fox is doing this one, they're surely working on a True Lies one.

Yeah...C'mon Cameron and Fox..pull ya finger out, and give us a TRUE LIES ULTIMATE EXTENDED DIRECTORS CUT!
I remember watching the Hindu rip-off on Russian t.v. a long while back... It was fun. (In a squeeky girly voice) "COMMAAAAANDOOO!!!!"
is it just me - or does the photo / artwork NOT look like Arnie ???
This is great! Wonder how it compares to the upcoming R2 2-disc set?
I can tell you now that there is probably no difference at all. I'm presuming that all the EXTRAS are put on Disc 2 for the R2 set, like "Coming to America" was done to R4 - where it is released as a 2 Disc set compared to R1's 1 Disc.
no steelbook?
WHAT IS THIS GARBAGE!?
