Warner Home Video has announced a deluxe edition of Cool Hand Luke which stars Paul Newman and George Kennedy. The Stuart Rosenberg directed film will be available to own from the 9th September, and should retail at around $19.97. Extras will include a commentary by noted writer and Paul Newman biographer, Eric Lax, a A Natural-Born World-Shaker: Making Cool Hand Luke featurette that takes an in-depth look at the creation of an uncompromising classic, and the theatrical trailer. A Blu-ray release will also be available for $28.99 with identical features. We've attached the package artwork below:

the cover art is a little plain but looks good I guess...never seen the movie but I always found Paul Newman attractive

YEEEEES!!!! I was hoping Warner would finally cave in! I just saw this for the first time last summer and thought it was one of the best roles I've ever seen Newman in! Next to The Hustler, this has to be his best work!

He's retired from films completely. Fresh contributions (i.e. not using archive footage) from him on extra features are as likely as fresh contributions from Sean Connery.

I'm definitely interested in picking this up. A classic film that appears to be getting a good deluxe edition.

I can finally buy this now. I have waited so long for a decent version to be released...Doesn't sound like there will be much contribution from Newman, but any kind of special edition is welcomed.
