Quote: Climate catastrophe? The end of civilization as we know it? Are the current staggeringly expensive actions on global warming really helping to save the world - or are we just burning money? Specifically Lomborg follows the money trail to ask, Why in the world are we spending so much money on “green” initiatives…for such little gain? Are there better ways to solve the problems? How else could that money be spent? The result is a “clear-eyed and common-sensical” film (Austin Chronicle) that will appeal to viewers on both sides of the aisle.

I'm not a skeptic or conservative, but I will say this, this film does not deny global warming and Bjorn Lomborg never denied it's existence. He was seen as being a skeptic and right-wing (when he's known for being a political liberal and is openly gay, doesn't sound "right wing" to me) because he rightfully, if arrogantly, challenged the idea that putting 250 billion into the Kyoto Protocol , and setting exceptionally expensive cap's (he advocates a cap of $2-14 per ton, lower than what most politicians propose but more than enough to bring in some needed revenue in the states) on carbon dioxide emissions will save the world, along with the general alarmism present in films like "An Inconvenient Truth" which predicted that events comparable to those in the film "The Day after Tomorrow" could somehow occur in a decade.
All he's doing is analyzing the money spent to "fight" climate change (although all it's really doing is expanding the powers of the bureaucracy that is the IPCC for the most part) on a cost-benefit basis, along with the costs of various alternative fuels. This is known as being logical, rather than basing decisions off of emotions (which both American liberals and conservatives do in equal measure.)

Neither of you are sounding particularly intelligent at the moment. Can we give the political jibes a miss please?
what do you think global warming is?
