Great cover for a great movie. Been waiting for this one to hit bluray for quite a while now. Firt day pick-up for me.
It's good to see the extended cut because the UK BD is the theatrical cut.
I haven't seen the extended cut, but I'm not a fan of the theatrical cut. I mean the acting is good, the film looks authentic, and I don't doubt was made with the best intentions. It's also occasionally humorous. The story is just the main weakness, I felt. It's even kinda predictable. But if people love the film, that's perfectly fine with me.
I love it.
If you dislike the theatrical cut, the extended cut isn't going to change your mind. It's basically more of the same.

Have not this been already released just recently as a 3-Disc Collector's Extended Edition?
Oh, no, silly me! That was AVATAR, of course... ;-D

does this ONLY include the extended cut???
Ahhh Kevin Costner, life was good before Waterworld and The Postman.
Dances with Wolves is great and all, but I prefer The Last of The Mohicans.
They're releasing this to cash-in on the recent collector's edition of Avatar...

I'm still bitter about this beating Goodfellas. I probably always will be.

Well, you know the Academy - they'll always go for the "triumph over adversity" films (there are cruder labels for this, btu we'll not go into them here).
A Beautiful Mind was generally regarded as an average run-of-the-mill (read: Ron Howard) movie, but it ticked all the right boxes for the Academy and bingo - Best Picture!

Given how long the extended cut is. I'm guessing the film is spread across both discs or the second disc is HD extras. If you prefer the theatrical cut, the UK BD has that and has been out for ages.

Agreed but in this case I'd really struggle to call it between Dances with Wolves and Goodfellas. Both are exceptional films.
Oddly The Departed is nowhere near Scorsese's best work. There are a slew of other films he should've won best director and picture for.

Congratulations on being the one thousandth and one thousand and first people to point out the Dances with Na'vi connection. Do we have anything for them in the way of prizes, Chris? Free blu-ray perhaps? lol
