That cover is unnecessary. Looks like a concert DVD. "The Dead live in JErsey!!" I'll stick with my copy.

I know that feeling! Will buy eventually. There are loads of cult films that DVD has so far overlooked yet some have had up to 3 or 4 re-releases!

I am yet to see this, and have heard both positive and negative comments about it.
If I like it, I still doubt I will get it while it's that price.

It`s not as good as Dawn Of the Dead but the special effects are brillant especially when you consider the budget and how old the film is....
I might have to get this as I`ve been after a decent release of this film for some time ..

You can get the region one, Anchor Bay Divimax Two-Disc SE right now from Amazon.com for $6.99. That's one hell of a price considering the set, but you might want to act quickly--sometimes Anchor Bay will slash the prices of their existing inventory before a title goes on moratorium, much like they did last year with the Army of Darkness: Boomstick Edition.

Screw the 'AB' release. I know this film backwards (vastly underrated movie) and the audio changes would drive me mad!
BAD 'AB' cock-up,
Let's hope this has the original audio. If so I'll pick it up as the Uk does not have a really good release yet.
I shall await the comparison news.

I'm a big George Romero fan. Day of the Dead was pretty good, but Dawn of the Dead was awesome. These are the Romero Dead films that I own on DVD, all Region 1:
Night of the Living Dead (Colorized / Black and White)
Dawn of the Dead - U.S. Theatrical Cut (Anniversary Edition) This is a rare out-of-print release.
Dawn of the Dead (Ultimate Edition)
Day of the Dead (Divimax Special Edition)
George A. Romero's Land of the Dead (Unrated Director's Cut)
Night of the Living Dead (Colorized / Black and White)
Dawn of the Dead - U.S. Theatrical Cut (Anniversary Edition) This is a rare out-of-print release.
Dawn of the Dead (Ultimate Edition)
Day of the Dead (Divimax Special Edition)
George A. Romero's Land of the Dead (Unrated Director's Cut)
they need to being out one last ultimate edtion with all the films
I liked this more then Dawn, excellent film. But I will buy the Anchor Bay version... sometime.
I wonder if this edition will be released down under?
Oh well, in the mean tme, i'll stick with my R1 unrated version....

I didn't notice the audio changes, could you list a few of them. Are you refering to the original AB release, the the newer divimax edition?

Divimax. They used the (so I heard) Japanese audio and some dialogue has been re-dubbed with other voices.
Once I heard about it I never bothered buying it as I've seen the film so many times it would just annoy the hell out of me.
Supposedly the '"It's the spic" line is a different voice,
Steele's "Jesus" re-mark when he sees all the Zombies on the lift has been re-dubbed as well.
DVD Maniacs mentions this also:
Quote: when Sarah finally sees where the doc has really been getting his zombie chow for Bub, she turns away and utters “Oh, Jesus” in the standard print, while here she’s looped in a different voice with “I don’t believe—;” and an exclamation of “F**k!” on the rooftop becomes “Trapped!;”.
And a couple of gunshots sound abbreviated compared to the original theatrical mix.

Huh. I didn't catch those..
Great movie, great directing, great acting, well I guess sometimes the oscars should go to the zombies, in some movies they are great (Dawn of the dead, day of the dead, 28 days later, land of the dead etc.) :-)
i'll defenetly by this one

Where were the zombies in 28 Days Later, I think you'll find find they are humans infected with a virus.
