Dexter (US - DVD R1 | BD)
We have official artwork for the August 17th releases of Dexter: Season Four

Synopsis
Quote: The Showtime Original Series DEXTER™ is back with an all-new season, and this time America's favorite serial killer has gone from freewheeling bachelor to responsible husband and doting dad. Maintaining an average-guy facade while satisfying his need to kill has never been easy. But now, with wife and kids in tow, Dexter's got more to lose then ever, as he gets drawn into a deadly game with a killer every bit as dangerous — and conflicted — as he is.

Yeah, Doakes being on Dexter's trail for season 2 was intense, but there were other things to dislike. I haven't seen season 4, but I'm buying it day 1. By the way DVDactive, you're not showing us anything new... this picture has been up on Amazon.com for quite a while now.
Well this box art has been the promo poster for this season since it was first announced. Amazon usually puts promo posters as an image placeholder on items until the official artwork is released. In this case they just happen to be the same image.

Season 2 was rather lame comparewd to this - but in saying that it is a great series overall.
I agree with jmm to some extent. I still liked season 4 more than most of the stuff on television, but it meandered a lot. I think without the shocking finale and John Lithgow's performance it wouldn't have had a whole lot going for it. What keeps me watching the show is Dexter's character, and Dexter himself was a lot less interesting this season.
And 3 was indeed excellent.

Sorry to disagree, but this was by far the worst season up until now. Dexter behaved completely out of character (he made a LOT of clumsy mistakes and exposed himself a lot, instead of keeping his usual low profile, and no, it was not justified by the "family stress" in the plot) and the whole conflict was lazyly set up and poorly executed, not to mention how far it verged into the realm of the unbelievable. To me, it was clear that the writers were faced with a new season without really having any idea of where to lead the character's arc, and the shock value ending only confirmed that, although I hope it will serve to shake the status quo and bring some of the smart freshness of the previous seasons.
(oh, and if you want to know, I think all previous 3 were great fun, but it was the 3rd which was the most rich and mature, and the tension between Dex and Jimmy Smits' character was unparalleled)

I wonder when this will get on Blu in Europe... Oh wait, it wont!
Anyway, i loved Season 4 to death! Love Michael C Hall, hes bloody amazing, i cant believe hes still kinda underrated! And John Lithgow man... Just wow! And without saying too much (i got the finale spoiled by some prick on Youtube) the season finale is one of the most shocking and sad endings ever. Like Taylor from Canada said "Im still not over the finale"

lol, am I the only one that didn't care much for season 2? especially that Lila annoying woman...
looking forward to this, I don't have showtime, but on the other hand, the ending got ruined for me, the second I saw it my jaw dropped

Definitely the best season since the first. It's also the only one that didn't taper off before the end.
I really hate that the finale got ruined for me.
Don't have Showtime and refused to watch this online (I like to watch them all together at home on BD) sp I'll definitely be picking this up Day 1.
Still not over the finale.
A huge hats-off to Lithgow's guest appearance this season. Wow,
Agree with TubedUp although I'd say it's the second best behind the first....so glad that the show picked up and got better after that lackluster 3rd season and I was shocked and thinking about the season finale days after watching it. One of these days I'll get a complete Blu-ray set of the show.
That artwork is sick! Totally in sync with the other covers. I love it. And indeed, the finale was just jaw-dropping.
The 2nd best season (behind season 2.) (One of the) first time(s) i've ever literally dropped my jaw at an episode (last 30 seconds of the season finale)
