I'll agree this wasn't up to par with seasons 1 & 4, it was definitely better than season 2 and just as good as 3. Still, even a "bad" season of Dexter is better than the majority of stuff on TV.
Day one for me also. Each season is great, in different ways. My other two favorite that are current are Mad Men & House.

I still need to watch this season. I've gotten pretty bored of Dexter though. I've come to realize that I really don't care about any of the characters except him.
