Dexter (US - DVD R1 | BD)
We have final package art for the sixth season which arrives August 14th

Synopsis
Quote: The explosively popular DEXTER™ is back with a vengeance for a sixth season of startling suspense and unexpected twists. It's been a year since last season's shocking and heartbreaking conclusion, and mild mannered criminologist-cum-grisly serial killer Dexter Morgan has come to terms with who he is. But his existence is shattered when he crosses paths with an enemy unlike any he's faced before. A delusional religious zealot with unflinching convictions, this new adversary soon draws Dexter into a dangerous game that could well end in disaster.

Are they FINALLY going to add significant special features on this series, or do we have to wait 10 years after the show ends?

i loved seasons 1-5 (yes, even season 5 which everyone seemed to hate! LOL) but season 6 is horrifically bad in every way. i'm still in shock at how this show went from being awesome, well written and respectable to a USA Network caliber (not in a good way) insult with some of the worst writing i've seen in years. for example, since when do the detectives/police wait outside a crime scene (meaning NO ONE was allowed to enter the mural crime scene!!) until Dexter arrives and even then it's ONLY Dexter that's allowed to enter the house and snoop around long enough for him to do what he did?!!! and don't even get me started on the Deb/Dex "Debster" thing. that's THE biggest slap in the face/insult that they've done with these characters. the only thing i'm dying to see is (without spoiling anything) how a certain character deals with what he/she saw at the end of the season.
Target will probably have an exclusive bonus disc. Then again for season five they had an exclusive art postcard. Lame.
And yes, I did buy that.

What djblack1313 said: the quality drop on Season 6 is abysmal.
Up until now, the show was very repetitive of its own formula, but always in a smart and funny way. They always tried to make the character look and feel clever enough to outsmart his "enemies" and get away with murder, quite literally.
I don't know what happened this season (maybe the original show runner quit) but they stopped trying, and the show turned into one of those where the star wins not because he's smart, but because everyone around him is dumb as a bell. Suddenly, the whole police department was stupid and investigation procedures were unbelievable clumsy, allowing for Dexter to do as he pleases, even exposing himself to risks that the original, smart Dexter would have never exposed himself, as though he was now aware that there was nobody paying close attention anymore so he needed not to try and be stealthy or low profile. All sense of real danger was lost, and with it, any real thrill.
And don't get me started on the "killer of the season"! Lame, stupid and grotesquely exaggerated doesn't come close to describe this terrible caricature of your usual religious-zealot serial-killer from the worst movies of the last 3 decades.
Add to all that the contrived story twists that were supposed to be "shocking" but were actually telegraphed miles before (yes, even THAT last one; if you have been watching DEXTER, you knew it was coming sometime down the line), and you've got a perfect cocktail for annoying boredom.
I understand the show's writers had already painted themselves into a corner through the previous 5 seasons (the Dexter premise would only go that far) but there's no excuse for this lazy season.
