Awesome. So we get this, and off the bat R2 gets a BD AND a Steelbook release?! WTF?!
BD for me - you would think it would be more out there by now...
Was lucky enough to have caught this in the theater, although I'll hold off for an inevitable BD release of Diary...
Love me some zombie movies, so I will be buing this... no matter what I heard.
And YOU'RE his friend, correct?
Romero didn't include the short film from James Rolfe??????? HE IS AN IDIOT! That film was better than anything he chose. Angry Video Game Nerd FTW here.
Did this movie even hit theaters? If so it must have snuck in on me. I'll definitely be renting it.
Yeah, I'll wait for it to come down in price. I love Dawn of the Dead, but I keep thinking to myself that Romero was a one hit wonder. I have a lot of respect for his indie status, but I don't own a copy of NotLD, Day of the Dead I find tiresome to watch, Land of the Dead is OK for what it's worth, and all of his non-zombie films are just OK.
Dawn works even with the cheesy zombie makup, maybe as it hits a sociological nerve.

this movie sucks! by far his worst since "theres always vanilla". and i cant stand all these romero fany-boys that say ALL his movies are golden. land of the dead sucked.
Blu?
I enjoyed this quite a bit. It was fairly well made and kept me entertained. It jelled nicely with the other dead films for being a prequel. The only disappointing thing is that he is making a "diary" trilogy and I really would rather have a sequel to Land. Either way I'm picking it up.
i'm in 2 minds about this film.i saw it twice at the cinema and i'm still not sure what i thought to it.the dvd sounds nice and has some interesting extras but the film had some big problems.a poor script and awful characters did it no favours.
Gorgeous artwork... FAR better than the shockingly poor R2 artwork which actually has nothing to do with the film (did anyone else see the film crew walking around with city skysc**pers destroyed in the background!?)
As for it being unrated, there is only one cut of this film I think, which is the R rated version, so I guess this release will be it. This a definate R1 purchase for me - i'm sold with that artwork (and the film wasn't that bad either!)

So this ISN'T an unrated release? Despite being on the 'Extreme' label
Those are some good extras. I was hoping for a bit more, but Dimension Extreme doesn't seem to like putting in too many extras on their DVDs. That's the only thing I dislike about them.
Extras added
i missed this in the cinema but will defo buy this one, zombie movies are getting a little tired and need a angle on things, hopefully this is it.
I got a pretty poor distribution here in the UK - it would have been nice to have had the chance to see it during the theatrical run, as we have seen all of Romero's other Dead movies on the big screen.
The Wilson Bros

I'm in the minority when I say I liked "Land." This is worse than "Land" because its serioius. "Land" was fun because it wasn't.
Thoroughly enjoyed this one, had a few good laughs and my girlfriend was jumping out her seat which added to my laughter Lol...thought "Land" was atrocious though and no number of rewatches has changed that.
im buying this
even thoug i actually didnt like "LAND OF THE DEAD"
but loved "DAWN OF THE DEAD"
im picking this one up

Allow me to add my acidic word of mouth: it's the worst of his five zombie films, his most serious since Night and he shows his age. Not fun, although it has its moments.
It never came to a theater near me either. Can't wait to see this one!!!
Really wanted to see this in the theatre but no one was showing it. Not even the small independent movie theatres. Even when the DVD comes out and it shows up in the theatre, I'll definitely catch it in the big screen. I'm still attracted to zombie flicks.
Just caught this the other day in the theater, and as a huge Romero fan who even defends Land of the Dead, this one didn't do much for me. I mean it has its moments but the screenplay leaves a lot to be desired and it lacks the usual Romero level of gore. I'll probably rent for the extras, but don't need to purchase
Romero's zombie movies are like a Michael Moore documentary: it has a statement, no matter what side he's on and you can rest ssured it's pretty amusing as to where it's headed. I enjoyed his latest entry "Land of the Dead" and was thinking: "Y'know, we may have to wait another couple of years before his next zombie outing..." guess I was as much right as I was wrong... I'm sure to get this one as soon as I can. Zombies are like gold in Romero's hands, at least for my part.
I liked Diary of the Dead. It doesn't pretend to be anything than a fun, little zombie movie. But with that being said, it definitely pales in comparison to Night, Dawn, Day, and Land.
I am so pissed this didn't get released by me, what the hell is with the Weinsteins and them having to release EVERYTHING they get the rights for limited? ARGH!
Anyway, I am most defiantly picking this up because no one can make a Zombie movie like the master!

I've just rediscovered Land of the Dead, a film i didn't much care for the first time i saw it, but it's actually pretty good. Might even seek out the HD DVD. (is it out on Blu-Ray?) Anyway, will definitely pick this up when it's released. I haven't seen this, nor Cloverfield, which i take it has a similar style? I'll get this over Cloverfield.
Tight box art!
Before I saw the film, this would have been a definate purchase. However, the film plays out like a Direct to DVD film with amateur acting and poor execution.

Actually, the guy's got 10 non-zombie movies on his CV. Martin, The Crazies, and Creepshow are all pretty good too.
I wanted this to be good, but I'm having my doubts based on acidic word of mouth.

I'm tired of this Dimension Extreme. First Teeth now this. But I am excited to see Diary of the dead. But all of Romero's work just involves zombies which gets tiring.
Hell yes! I've been waiting for this news for a while now. I'm glad Dimension Extreme is releasing this. It is becoming one of my favorite companies. I recently picked up Automaton Transfusion and I am going to get Inside next Tuesday. And I will surely pick this up now too.
