I've seen Rear Window and this. The basic premise is the same in both, but I love how the story was tweaked and updated for a new generation. This film also sparked interest in younger audiences to check out Rear Window. Disturbia can't be called a rip-off.
Shia is becoming one of the best younger male actors today. I'm looking forward to the new Indy film and any other movie he decides to make.

I still stay Shia's face is too long in that poster. He must have like an extra inch between his nose and mouth. Take away those binoculars, and we'd see he has a monkey face.
This can hardly be called a rip-off. And in no way was it a straight remake of Rear Window. It just merely had the same basis of a guy confined to his own house who takes to spying on his neighbours, but they added a number of new elements to the story to make it seem fresh, which worked IMO.

The movie had some A* performances, excellent witty dialogue, intense scenes of suspence, a fantastic grouping of two different genres (thriller & comedy), what more do you ask for?
Sheesh, some people are far too demanding.

This film was very well made and one of last year's surprises for me, along with Zodiac.
I take it you and Edge having never seen Hitchcocks Rear Window then? pfffff.
