So is the upcoming series going to be shot in HD?

No it hasn't, which is what perplexes me about this one. I had to see "The Next Doctor" at youtube. Why release this and not the last one too? And what do they mean "As seen on BBC America"? Neither has not been shown on that channel yet.

By the time this DVD is released, it will be. Planet of the Dead is scheduled to premiere on BBC America on July 27th. The Next Doctor premieres on the network on June 27th. They will also be airing the subsequent specials not long after they premiere in the UK.

I liked The Next Doctor better. I didn't think much of Planet Of The Dead.

WORD.
Think I'll wait and hope they put them all out in a four-pack, though.

Let's hope, it's about time.

I wonder if this was shot on 25fps film as with other BBC HD programmes, which they then slow down to 24fps on Blu-ray releases (Life On Mars, for example). If so, that stinks.

I kind of assumed (hoped) that all five of the '09 specials would be released in a single box once they all aired.
(The Next Doctor, Planet of the Dead, The Waters of Mars and the as yet untitled two-parter that brings the Tennant era to an end)
