Mine too! Especially glad the theatrical cut is on the disc. I was very disappointed by the director's cut!
I've actually never seen this, heard great things about it though. I echo the previous posts, I will certainly buy this bluray when it comes out. It looks to have some nice special features.
Oh my god, ive been waiting so long for this! Plus that artwork is pretty kick-ass and that it holds both the editions along with all those features doesnt hurt the slightest.
I only own the Directors Cut... Only saw the Theatrical Cut once which was better imho. Now i can see it again - In hi-def! This deserves a "joyeous Smiley" =D

My Director's Cut DVD finally kicked the bucket on my Kelly marathon, Tales and Box blu ray premiere, so been waiting for this, but US reviews were saddening.
I wouldn't expect it to kick the DVD's arse visually. It's not the sort of film that will look ridiculously shiny on BD.
Only ever saw the theatrical so am interested in getting this, as both cuts are in one place.
The gradual binning of old DVD's continues.

Guys, the U.S. BD picture quality is c**p. Don't get too excited.
Echo? As I said above, it won't look amazing, but it will be quite a bit better than the DVD, especially on larger screens. Despite the filtering the US BD has superior definition, better grain retention, and the colour rendition is more accurate. The edge enhancement and compression artefacts aren't as obvious either. If you're a big fan it's definitely worth the upgrade.

First, I was generally speaking to the people who are so anxious for this BD release. And you originally said "I wouldn't expect it to kick the DVD's arse visually. It's not the sort of film that will look ridiculously shiny on BD". Which suggests that you haven't seen this film in high def on DVD. I'm just going on what you said, and responding. I have a huge DLP Sangsung TV and this movie does not look any better on Blu-Ray than it did on the standard DVD.

That's a lovely cover.

Doesn't the DVD look terribly grimy? I hope it does because both my R1 Theatrical Cut and UK R2 Director's cut look grimy.
I imagine Fox/Metrodome are well aware most people prefer the Theatrical Cut. I like both the same. I found both as complicated as each other.
p.s - Any word if Disc 2 is a DVD? Like the USA Fox release.

Then, with respect, you're not looking at it critically enough. I can see major differences in just these images, let alone what it'll look like in motion on a large screen. As I said, better colour rendition, better compression, better grain retention. The image quality isn't c**p; it's just that the film wasn't particularly shiny to begin with.
Perhaps I could have phrased things slightly better instead of using slang. What I'm trying to get across is that this BD (and the US one) is about as close as you're likely to get to a true representation of how the film originally looked. It's definitely a good step up from the DVD, but it doesn't make it look like a new film because that's not technically possible. You also have to take the lossless audio into consideration, as that's another advantage over the DVD (which I think might only have a 384Kbps track, but I could be mistaken about that).

The DVD isn't good by today's standards (check the above caps). I've no idea about the discs, but I should be getting a review copy soon.
*Edit* Asked Metrodome and apparently it's two BDs.
*Another Edit* Got the discs today and after testing with PowerDVD set to region A it looks like it's region free after all.
