Hey dj! how's ma man
haha anyhew, you'll prolly like this one. the acting was really good, the backstory was kinda interesting, and the scenery was just stunning. i didn't like it because i felt like it failed to deliver but i'm really harsh on horror movies so...

Oh great, Sony is jumping on the UltraViolet digital copy bandwagon too...
Meh, this movie was alright. Man, this has not been a good year for horror. Shark Night and The Rite were epic fails, Apollo 18 sucked, Scream 4, PA3, and FD5 were disappointing sequels, and Fright Night was decent, but not great. I feel Insidious was the only good horror movie this year.
I didn't really like this one. It was mediocre at best.
I actually enjoyed this.. is it a great movie?, no not really, but I've watched worse. It has a good sense of atmosphere and shadow play - not strictly a horror film at all, more in the same vein of 'The Devil's Backbone' and 'The Orphanage' a slow burn movie with some decent set pieces.. although 'DBAOTD' is nowhere near the levels of the other movies.. Katie Holmes is passable, Guy Pearce is wasted though in a throw away role.. Still, more than good enough for a rental.
I had high expectations for this and sadly they weren't met. I still enjoyed it, but it could have been so much better. It's a very nice looking movie though. I'll buy it someday when it's around $7.
Haven't seen this, but I'll give it a try. I'm expecting a lot of "meh" and a lot of pretty. Also, that cover art blows. I would have vastly preffered the Troy Nixey poster.
I thought this movie was alright. It was a bit too long, so it ended up being repetitive in parts, and it also couldn't seem to decide if it was a children-appropriate fairy tale or a more gruesome gothic horror film. It's a hard blend to acheive, and this falls far short of Pan's Labyrinth. But it is worth a look.
This ought to have been the coverart, though:

THis movie sucked, it was boring but had no pay off. A big waste of time, the cover arts not bad tho
I'm going to check it out, but it looks like one of those "stylistic" horor films. Nothing wrong with that, but this seems like it's more concerned with the setting and the location of the film as well as focusing more on direction than actual scares. Still, nothing wrong with that I'm just saying that turned me off a little bit.
i heard this was very so so. i'll check this out as a rental first to see if i'd buy it. the little creatures really didn't look scary though. and i'm not really a Katie Holmes fan.
