Massively. I cannot believe the same director who did "Dog Soldiers" and "The Descent" did this mess. What happened Neil??????

How could they use the palty Pathfinder to try and sell this? 1 million DVD sales still does not make it a good movie....

Rhona Mitra wasn't in Beowulf, that was Angelina Jolie....
anyway im gonna blind buy this movie since Neil Marshall made The Descent which is like one of the best horror movie ever.

If some of those added minutes fix the blinding editing in the fight scenes, I'll give it a look-see. And I sure hope the BD has both cuts as well, although I get the impression that it only has the Unrated.
Just cause it's a homage doesn't mean it didn't suck. The whole thing was just terribly disjointed and scripted. More irritating and annoying than entertaining.
The artwork is pretty cool...
the cover is really good, im picking this up...
Definitely I will need to have a copy of this among my DVDs. not bad cover art.
I love this artwork!
This was really cool, great throwback to the 80's, Now if FOX were smart they'd ask Marshall to FREAKIN MAKE ALIEN VS PREDATOR HIS REFERENCES WERE BLOODY THERE IN BROAD DAYLIGHT IN DOG SOLDIERS AND THE DESCENT!
I think I will give this a rent. I have given up the "blind buy" technique. Too many terrible movies!
Spunky!
It does feel like you are watching a load of other films squished together, but it's an enjoyable ride none-the-less.
This movie looks like mad max with the ripped off concept of Dragonhead. The face paint on that chick is very similar to that of the crazed kid in Dragonhead(great movie btw). And the whole I'm so cool because I have a mowhawk mentality died out in the 80's, now a days I see preppy 14 year olds at the mall with mowhawks, so its lost it's appeal, making this movie look dumb and genreric. I'll give it a rent anyway, but I'm not expecting much.
I can now say that am fully pleased... I like Universal Blu-ray covers. Specially that tagline, it serves ten times better then "The Look and Sound of Perfect", and it does not make that round shape like the HD DVD ones, which takes a half of the cover artwork.
Loved dogs soldiers, loved the descent (apart from the ending) but the mixed word-of-mouth about this film doesn't bode well.
The artwork looks okay. 'Ehh I'll see it not expecting the movie to come out. We'll have to wait and see.
Have heard nothing but bad things about this flick, but I'll probably end up getting it as I really like Marshall's other movies.
It's also cool to see the Blu Ray and Universal logos on the same cover... "Ultimate HD experience" indeed...

That is a great cover! I loved 'The descent'. The extras sound nifty. This could be a good movie.
I hope Rhona Mitra has a nude scene in this movie. I've had a crush on her since I first saw her in Beowulf.
The cover is good. It'll definitely stand out because of all the red and black/white.
Great Cover - Definitely picking up Blu!
Artwork added
i agree w/ shwanzi. i loved this movie. i, too, feel it was very underrated. Rhona Mitra rules in this! i'll definitely get this (the unrated of course!).
Easily one of my favorite movies of the year! Loved it!

I think you're wrong, people realized fully that it was a homage to the old school John Carpenter movies. It just wasn't as good. Look to Grindhouse and Hot Fuzz as brilliant homages. I wouldn't put brilliant and Doomsday in the same sentence EVER. I mean ever again after that last sentence.
I'm not sure on this movie for some reason, but I bet this film is 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times better than "10,000 B.C."

I was never mean, but BD stands for Blu-ray Disc :D

Favorite movie of the year so far. saw it twice in one weekend. fantastic John Carpenter and Road Warrior homage.
it was alright,
Still want to see this despite all the negativity.
i watched this over the weekend and despite all it's problems i thought it was enjoyable.i'm a fan of all the Italian mad max rip offs and that's what doomsday is,just a good old cheese and gore fest.interested to see what those 4 mins contain.
The theater over where I live had it for about a week, but I did not get to see it. This is a must buy for me when it comes out.

Will rent it. Not expecting much after the reviews.

I just don't think people realized what a brilliant homage to the old school John Carpenter movies this was... the same font for the credits that JC always used, the all synth score (which rocked!), the Snake Plissken references (the movie is essentially a remake of Escape from New York with a female lead)... it's f'n awesome!
Not to mention the massive Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome homages. However, to be honest I felt there were times when the homage went too far and I felt I might as well just watch the original movies themselves. Good movie, though. I'd say the only weak things about Doomsday are the scenes not featuring Rhona Mitra (it's not just that she's hot, all her action scenes are insanely awesome).

this movie was quite alright, great waste of an hour or so...really the only scene that struck as something worth valid entertainment would the the absurd car chase scene...though ripped from road warrior...neil marshall is more suited to standard horror I'd say as he excels at it and is quite generic here.
what's a BD cover? just wondering...
oh... i didnt catch this either...
but i heard it was stupid...
so, i'll give it a chance on dvd

Even though I dont care for this film, this is the first BD from Universal and am dying to see what their BD covers look like.

I didn't catch this in theaters because I didn't know a lot about this film. But I sure loved Descent. I will rent this. Even if it sucks. It will be at least okay because The descent was the best.
I wanted to catch this in theaters, but I couldn't get to it. I'll definitely be picking this up though, because of the unrated cut. Neil Marshall is a great horror and action director. I'm glad that I bought The Descent (the original unrated cut with the "unhappy" ending.) Best blind buy ever.
This movie sucked.
This looks great fun, shame it's still not had a theatical run.
Why was a British movie released here last?
