OMG! this is the best news I`ve heard all day. This is truely one of the greatest films of all time, and it`s finally getting THE dvd release. I`m happy that It`s getting the Universal Legacy release because all the films in the series (eg. The Deer Hunter, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Sting)have superb covers and packaging. Hopefully the word UNIVERSAL will be removed of the top banner to mach the one`s of the other releases. This is a must own.
Looks like a must see classic.
BTW, YlowBstard, awesome new sig. EQ f**king owns.

This is so weird I just recorded it off TCM...
I've been meaning to see it for so long and when I finally catch it on TV, it becomes available on DVD!

I've been waiting for the cover art to come out for this release and I have to say it is well worth the wait. It is great!
I already own the Image DVD release but with no Special Features and a c**ppy grainy transfer, the Universal Special edition is a welcome sight!
Thanks Universal!

Oh man....thank you Universal!
Great film noir, but why do they have to colorize the cover when the film is in b&w. I mean, it looks bad when they do that. The To Kill A Mockingbird one was great, I wonder what kind of sound mix they will do. Seriously, how did Sting and Mockingbird get 5.1 DTS and Deer Hunter get stereo? I know people hate artificial surround tracks, but I think Deer Hunter could have benefited from it and Mockingbird really didn't need it.
Have yet to see this one, but as a noir fan to the bone, I am excited. In other news Warner is releasing Noir Set #3 on 7/18/06.
wow.....it's about time. Hopefully, they actually release it this time.
Double Indemnity
I agree! This is the best movie of all time for sure. I watch it often on VHS. Can hardly wait for DVD. Happy viewing.....Jan

Nice classy menus. I`m also happy that the DI TV movie is included. I`ve always wanted to see it.
About time
Huh...there's a movie due next year similar to this.
"Marriage," a film noir w/Pierce Brosnan, Chris Cooper, Rachel McAdams, and Patricia Clarkson.
I don't know much about this but Our Rachel is in the Barbara Stanwyck role & "Marriage" is not a remake of this.

wow. Neat. About time. They do need to get rid of the top banner though.
I haven't seen this movie. I'm sure it'll be on at TCM before the DVD is released and I'll decide about buying it. I love noirs, though. I just bought Born to Kill.
