One of the best film of the year so far. I saw this in a fully-packed theater, and it was a bloody great experience!

Critically acclaimed by all those who reviewed it, a little over $42M in the US boxoffice, did it make a profit??? & was truly that scary?????
Not scary but alot of jump scenes. Trurly a great movie just too bad many people didn't see it.
This wasn't scary at all, its definitly more of a comedy. When I went to see it everyone was laughing the whole way through. Its a good movie, just not a horror movie. It was funny though.
Picking this up day one. Absolutely loved it.
2 Empire 5 stars' on the cover?
They only gave it 4.
Great film though.

Anyone notice that Charles Gant Heat's rating is shown 3 times on the cover. Also Uncut's is shown 2 times. And Empire's is also shown twice. They'll look pretty stupid if they don't change that. But anyway, this movie was tons of fun. More funny than scary. A lot of jump scenes (which, in my opinion, doesn't equate with scary).
isn't this an universal picture so why lionsgate?
They were the US distributors, not the financiers (according to IMDb).
Really enjoyed this in the cinema, as did the crowd I seen it with. It was a joy for me to see Mr Raimi return to the genre he started in. The film reminded me of the Evil dead trilogy many times, which was a good thing for me. I know Ellen page was supposed to be in it but I for one am delighted that the role went to Alison Lohman, she was fantastic throughout the movie. Love her work!!!
All in all I can't wait to own this, heres hoping for a Sam/Ivan Raimi commentary with Alison aswell. Hope it gets some good special features with it.

One of the years best films indeed but why on earth did they ruin the cover with all those star ratings? my God that`s ugly...
The scariest movie of the decade? Bulls**t, f**king The Midnight Meat Train was freakier. This movie sucked balls. Bulls**t myths and c**p just bored me. And she killed the cat. Stupid ass movie, waste of time.

As already mentioned those quotes are very misleading - as they all appear to be from only 4 different sources. Hope they change that before release, shouldnt have to rely on conning people into buying a DVD.

Totally agreed here. I became a fan of Alison Lohman after I saw 'White Oleander' a few years ago, I knew she was destined for big time. She was great in this film and hopefully this will put her on the map, and getting more and more big roles.

Any fans of Alison Lohman should check out 2 movies:
Where the Truth Lies
Matchstick Men
She's fantastic in both.

Yeah Matchstick Men is where she caught my attention. I couldn't believe that she was 22 at the time, she was a really convincing 14 year old. As you say BoBoi I hope she gets the attention she deserves and gets more lead roles.
I would love to see her Christine character alongside Ash in a weird DMTH/ED crossover, it probably won't happen but I'd like it.

WTF?

WTF?
God, I hate English R2 covers - packing every single available square inch with reviews, star ratings, yadda yadda yadda. Not to mention the big-ass, ugly rating marks everywhere. And the fat Blu-ray cases. Oh no, I'll always be sticking with R1 releases.
Very quick to DVD (aren't they all???) but I do want to check this out... Especially with Raimi in the background

Yeah, I agree totally. She looks bloody young in Matchstick Men, hell she still looks young now and she's almost 30, kinda like Kristen Bell who also looks fairly young for her age.

it's more silly and daft than scarey.
