I was in South Korea in August and saw this was playing in theatres there (It's a South Korean Production) and noticed it had all American actors...which intrigued me. It was called D-War over there. I decided to pass on seeing it in Korea hoping it would get released in the States.
Finally saw it in late September and my goodness this movie was awful! The dragons were scary, but bad acting and cheesy special effects killed it for me.

Isn't this barely on theatres?
The Writing on the back "HUGE BREAKOUT HIT..ect.." reads as a desperate attempt to lure people to watch it. Most of the information is really pointless (Aggressive marketing... J.J. Abrams' Cloverfield) I'll admit that the trailer did look pretty cool but the writting makes me shake my head.
the movie flopped in the USA.
looked like a lot of fun but it's got a panning on imdb.
A panning????
it tanked in the USA.. but isnt it one of the highest grossing flicks in Korea? or did i just make that up? i thought i had heard that
It was really bad, but the special effects were impressive, and it was fun to make fun of.
It looked really hilarious, might give it a rent.

The advertisement featured above isn't targeted at individual buyers, but rather retailers such as Blockbuster, Best Buy and such; the Cloverfield comment in the ad is for business to business marketing purposes.

And i thought the digital sharks in Deep Blue Sea was bad CGI.
Ah! That makes sense. Thanks for the info Matt.
it was sorta hard for this movie to be a flop or even a success considering it hardly played anywhere....i'm in a major city and we get everthing here....we even have this "arthouse" type theater that gets the smaller movies...but this never played anywhere........so yeah.....not that it would have been a success anyway but with such a small theatrical released, they shouldnt have bothered and just went DTV..lol

...No it didn't, for its limited release both US and South Korean studios considered this film a success. Sure not summer blockbuster big but it did alright for a limited released, foreign film.
I'm so pissed about this one. I bought a ticket to see it, then, without telling me, while i was sitting in the theater no less, they decided to cancel the showing and instead play some test screenings, so I had to sit through Resident Evil instead....GERRRR, anyway I can't wait for this one to come out. I'll blind buy it for sure, I am a huge fan of Asian monster movies (who can guess where my user name comes from

I'd like to have seen this in the theatre. I can't wait to see it on DVD. Does it strike anyone as weird that they're piggybacking off of JJ Abrams' Cloverfield movie to market this?
simple. Manda, the snake-like monster of Toho fame
It was also featured in one or two Godzilla movies, more notably a cameo in Godzilla: Final Wars. I'll pick this up.
Looked horrible. Will pass for sure.
Jason Behr hasn't done much good movies post "Roswell" it seems.
"This monster film makes even the remake of Godzilla look good."
Frank Scheck
Hollywood Reporter
"This one really should have been immediately relegated to the discount bin."

Mark Reviews Movies
I completely agree with these critics. The trailer alone was painful.

Correctamundo! That is one non-Godzilla movie, and three Godzilla movies.
People, keep in mind this was a home grown film. All the effects were done in house which was a HUGE task for these guys. I think they didn't do half bad for themselves, I kind of figured it was going to get trashed by US audiences who are used to Weta or ILM effects.

I'm sure glad I wisely passed on this piece of dreck film. I say that because pretty much everyone I know of who saw it walked out on it in the theater.
Honestly, lame premise...effects don't look as good...bah!
C**p. Horrible. What's the whole point in seeing this movie. It's just a horrible ripoff off of "Godzilla."
I'm glad I chose "The Host" over this.
I will never understand why people call a film "trash" before they even see it. Doesn't make any sense. I want to check it out. I haven't heard to many things but in Korea this movie was a HUGE hit. Same goes for The Host.. In the states The Host didn't rake in the cash but in Asia it was a giant..
Looks weird.
Highres artwork added for the standard DVD

The Host is a masterpiece compared to this. I really enjoyed it. Good slick creature ride.
