The best movie of 2006. Everyone did an excellent job, especially Jenifer Hudson. I like both cover but prefer the single-disc cover. I am looking forward to buying this one.

I enjoyed it, although I doubt I'll wanna see it again anytime soon, or own it...
It's ridiculous that Jennifer Hudson won an Oscar pretty much for singing. Cate Blanchett should've won.

It was okay, but I wouldn't go so far as to say the best of 2006 (especially because I saw it in 2007). That Hudson lass can sing though, even if Beyonce can't act.
Wow "Showstopper Edition", now I have to buy it (...)
I will be getting this for sure one of the best films of the year and snubbed at the Oscars. Babel stinks.
HD DVD version is on the way I love you paramount

Or the little girl from Little Miss Sunshine. She was really good.

I LOVED this movie. It was great and I wish that it was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars, or at least Best Director (that was a shame). I can't wait to pick this up.
No slipsleeve on the 2-disc edition???!!! I am very pissed about that. I LOOOOOOOOVE this movie, best movie of '06 in my opinion. I am mad that the 2-disc's cover isn't as good as the 1-disc.
O-V-E-R-R-A-T-E-D. Good, but over-rated.
United 93 was the best film of '06.

I'll wait for the JAP LE for this one, I'm sure there will be one just like Chicago...
"Dreamgirls" was one of the year's best movies. Jennifer Hudson gave an amazing performance, though I noticed that, until she got all of the wonderful press and won the Oscar, she wasn't even mentioned in the movie's promotion. Now, her name is on the cover.

No it was not!!! United 93 was a wonderful docudrama, but not much more.

Overrated or not, I enjoyed it and it'll be in my collection.

Guys, guys, you're both wrong. "Children of Men" and "The Departed" tie for best movie of 2006. No doubt about it.
I admit, I was surprised to see an indie director like Bill Condon (who helmed "Gods and Monsters" and "Kinsey" ) do a big-budget movie musical like this one. I guess he must've loved the Broadway musical enough to make a movie out of it, though.
And I hate how Paramount has gotten into the ploy of dual-releases on their big titles. First it was Fox, then the WB, then Universal and now Paramount are thrusting these overpriced 2-disc editions on us consumers. I don't mind the studios giving the consumers the choice, but they should make the single-disc and double-disc editions the same SRP so that they'll be fair on the consumers.

I pick up the HD.
I love movie-musicals, but I didn't get a chance to catch this one. I'm just going to blind-buy the 2-Disc because I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy it. The coverart for both editions are really good btw.
isn't there going to be an EXTENDED DVD version of the movie coming out this christmas?..im hesitant to buy this...even though i LOVED the movie!
nice cover-art. I agree the one disc art looks better than the 2 disc.
I actually prefer the 2-disc artwork over the single disc. My favorite cover is the HD-DVD though.

jesus christ...i would have been really mad if the girl from "little miss sunshine" would have won. it already got 2 oscars it didn't deserve, but there definitely wasn't any depth to that little girl's character.

Dreamgirls was def. one of the best films of 2006 and Jennifer Hudson is def. a star on the rise.
That being said, I like the one-disc art better. IMO, Dreamgirls is one of the very few films where the one-sheet doesn't work for disc covers.

I'll be getting this - GREAT movie and GREAT performance by Hudson. The Oscar was well-deserved.
The cover art here seems....busy.
Too much information on it and it kinda makes it look cluttered.
I realize they want to sell the big stars - but is there anyone still out there buying DVds that DOESN'T know who's in this movie???
I would have made both the Golden Globe Winner type a bit smaller, and ditto with the actors names - or perhaps remove them altogether.
Both covers just look cluttered to me.

There wasn't exactly as lot of depth to Jennifer Hudson's character either. She spent the whole thing singing, not acting, and it didn't stop her. I thought Abigail Breslin was good, as was Alan Arkin.

I loved this film. Hate the one disc artwork, but love the two discs.

Very over rated film for me but then again we all have different tastes...
Eddie Murphy was robbed on this one. Alan Arkin, yeah, was good as the sterotypical grumpy old man, but please, Murphy takes home the award at every other awards ceremony but the Oscars? Best Supporting Actor continues to be the category that the voters like to reward the "old-timer" every so often at the expense of a great performance of a younger actor.
UNITED 93 BEST FILM OF O6. Paul Greengrass should have won best director. Jennifer hudson should not have won .The only good thing about Dreamgirls is Eddie Murphy. And yes chris Cate Blanchett should've won.
Couldn't care less about this movie!

Pretty much my thoughts exactly. Plus Steve Urkel was in it, so that alone deserves a 2 disc SE.

I would've puked if Greengrass beat Scorsese, who should've won 27 years ago.
Dreamgirls makes me wanna gag.
