Paramount Home Entertainment has announced Drillbit Taylor which stars Owen Wilson, Alex Frost, and Matt Gallini. The Steven Brill directed comedy will be available to own from the 1st July and will arrive in both standard and 'Extended Survival' editions. A Blu-ray release will also be available, with all bonus material presented in HD. We've attached artwork for all releases below:

I'm really sick of all these Apatow "comedies". The only one I could stand was Knocked Up. 40-Year-Old Virgin was WAY too long and Superbad was just the "F"-word repeated over and over and over and over... well, you get my point.
"Hilarious Extended Edition"?? As opposed to the "Laugh-Free Theatrical Cut" that I endured in March?

This "Superbad for the tween set" was absolutely abysmal (and before anyone makes a smartass comment about the Seth Rogen connection: yes, I know he co-wrote this and yes, I know these characters, too, are loosely based on his own youth)...Sadly, the presence of Wilson alone - much like his buddy Stiller - no longer guarantees a good comedy. Personally, I'd like to see Owen get back in touch with his indie roots. The Darjeeling Limited is a step in the right direction (is Wes Anderson still considered indie? Depends on who you ask, I suppose). But hey, that's just me.
Apparently it's "HILARIOUS." Owen Wilson plays a bum? He plays that in every film he does...PASS.
I actually enjoyed this quite a bit. Maybe b/c i wasn't expecting much. It had problems, a tad too unrealistic and the kids were TOO nerdy at times but it had just enough laughs to keep me entertained. I might buy this, prolly has good replay value.
Can we say "FLOP"?
I don't think the Unrated version will be that good. But I'll wait until prices go down.

A few moments of somewhat humorous bits and lines apparently is what passes as a movie these days. Unless Owen teams up with Ben Stiller he's pretty much a dud. Face it Hollywood, this guy and his screwed up nose just can't carry a film all by themselves. The fact that he's been in good movies does not make Owen Wilson a good actor. I guess when you have a good agent that can prop you up with numbers and awards there are going to be schmucks who'll buy it and cast him whenever possible. I gotta meet his agent and bring a paper bag and then act my way out of it which Wilson cannot.
Poor Owen. Money talks.
Some tweaks are needed to those speclists. One of the bullet points is "Making Of Featurettes" when the featurettes are listed in a separate bullet point. Of course, also the BD has everything in HD, it has the extended cut, and it also includes 6 extra deleted scenes.
