Man, Fly Away Home, he's still riding that credit? The only thing that I remember about that was that they used Hans Zimmer's "The Journey Begins" from Millenium in the trailer, lol.

Hey, Fly Away Home was a great film. You should see it if you haven`t already. I here this is suppost to be really good aswell. I`m not gonna blind buy it though.
This was at my theater months ago. Didn't stay long though. Heard it was good. Probably won't watch it. I do want to see the upcoming "Flicka" though if only just to see Alison Lohman........waw!!!!
I will buy this based on Director Carroll Ballard alone. In addition to the classic, "The Black Stallion," he directed "Never Cry Wolf," "Fly Away Home" and the underrated film, "Wind." I just wish they used the original poster art which woiuld stand out on a shelf like a stop sign. I believe they are using the original poster art for the region 2 release.
"Fly Away Home" and "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey" were two films that made me cry so hard when I was like 6, way too traumatzing! "Duma" looks so dumb and that cover art is horrid.
Looks like a pleasant animal family flick. Ebert liked it.
I always read his reviews and respect what he has to say, but Ebert is so wrong some times. He gave negative reviews to The Elephant Man, Leon: The Professional, The Thing, Blue Velvet, Grosse Pointe Blank, Fight Club, Straw Dogs, The Untouchables, Reservoir Dogs, Once Upon a Time in the West, and even Die Hard for god sakes, to which he loved the sequels. Ive learned not to avoid the films he doesnt like because sometimes he just misses the point of some truely great films. It all comes down to the fact that we all have different tastes in movies.
Wow, yet another one I've never heard of....
I've heard really good things about it and it looked very cute. I'll rent it for sure. I just wish they would have used the nice theatrical poster art instead. I don't hate the artwork they're using, but the poster art was better and on the DVD art the kid looks like Hilary Sw**k (It won't even let me say her last name. Does it think it's a swear word?) with that facial expression. They also should have put at least one critic quote on the cover. It's not like they don't have room for it.
I have R2UK. This is a wonderful film with outstanding vistas. Just beautiful. Too bad there isn´t any background featurettes on either version. Highly recommended.
The reason no one has heard of this is because Warner didn´t know what to do with it or even how to market it. The flick cost 12 million to make, and Warner didn´t want to spend 25 million to market it, which ia about avarage. They ended up spending only 6 millions. For that sum any flick is very likely to drown. Especially, this kind of movie. Nevertheless, I feel it´s vital that movies like this gets made from time to time, and that studios are willing to take chances instead of going for bold Blockbusters.
