I will certianly be getting this.
watts' english accent is pitch-perfect. her performance in the film is also superb.
HD DVD artwork added...
Looks violent but cool at the same time. Plus, Viggo Mortensen is an awesome actor.
Another c**p cover-art, in the same line as "A History of Violence"! Why do they make these R1 covers so... terrible?
Dark days if Cronenberg doesn't include a commentary with this release or, at least, an actor's commentary.

Superb film. Cronenberg came to talk about it after the screening. He was insightful and I liked his ideas on cinema and the way he directs. I haven't seen many of his films, but I have a lot of respect for the man.
I agree with everyone when it comes to the cover art. TOO BUSY!

HORRIBLE art. Thankfully I'm a graphic designer who specializes in DVD covers.
Pretty good cover art, but boy does that upper left pic of Viggo look airbrushed
Heard it was pretty good.

Are you serious? That's a flyer, stupid!Lol, my bad. I looked at it pretty fast. Didnt even notice. The cover art looks ok. I might rent it.

I don't know why studios insist on the block cover art... these designers need to go back to design school.
i don't know a whole lot about cronenberg...but i too loved a history of violence. that said...i was very let down by this movie. i was eagerly awaiting this...and left the theatre with an "eh" feeling. i would advise you to give it a rent rather than a blind buy.

I missed this in theaters, and it was a definite rent for me until I read all the praise. Maybe I will just go out and buy it.
Didn't get to see this in the theater, but I've heard good things...this will either be a blind buy or a rent first...that being said, the cover art sucks...

Cover art is too busy. It also kind of gives the whole movie away as well (I mean, it is a stretch, but someone could figure it out through the pictures).
Don't like these blocks artwork type - but won't affect my decision to pick up the HD DVD of this great film
the artwork is too complex. why cant they concentrate on one specific image? The tattoo hands alone make a much much better cover art.

Once again, I have to wonder why Viggo isn't more in demand!...or is he really just that ultra-selective? Hmm, guess you can't blame him. It must be nice to have such solid control of your career. Not all actors are that fortunate!
Great film but one of my least favorite Chronenberg films...maybe I expected too much?

Please tell me that when the official specs are released that there will be a commentary track on this one--David Cronenberg is one of the better audio commentators going.
Not as good as "History of Violence" but a strong film by Cronenberg. One of the better films of 2007.
Tedious film.Almost as over rated as A History Of Violence.
Saw this earlier tonight, thought it was definitely among one of the very best films this year - Viggo was great, I thought Naomi was good as well, but not quite her top notch performance - Overall a bloody brilliant film, definitely picking up the HD DVD
VIGGO'S BALLS IN HD!!!!!
My friend said this movie was awesome, so I'll definitely pick it up in HD!

Pretty good movie, Viggo was Oscar worthy. I'll buy it.
I'm totally buying this on HD-DVD. One of the best films I've seen this year.
The third best film of the year for me; right behing AMERICAN GANGSTER AND ZODIAC, and just infront of GONE BABY GONE. I can smell a double-dip coming, but I can't wait for that!
I thought this movie was god-awful. The bathhouse scene was so unnecessary I couldn't stop laughing. It was a joke. None of the characters had any motives and all the performances were so stale. When they kissed at the end, it was enough for me to laugh out loud. I'm sorry, but I thought it was a really bad movie. Although I didn't care for History of Violence either.
Is that the cover art? If so it looks hideous.
This is a movie that needs a special edition. We will get oine someday but until we do I'm opting out. Just like I did with Zodiac.

What nation doesn't get stereotyped? And lets be honest here...These guys are meant to be Russian gangsters (yes...even Russians can be criminals) exactly how were they meant to be portrayed?
I for one thought it was excellent and uncompromising.
Next Cronenberg needs to do another horror film though.

Amazing film. Cronenberg can do anything.
One of the best movies of the year. I'm not typically a fan of Cronenbergg, but this was VERY good.

She was born in the U.K. but was raised in Australia -- hence the Aussie accent.

I really liked this film even though I have watched two movies since then that impressed way more (Michael Clayton, Across The Universe).

Interestingly being English I found Watts attempt at an English accent annoying. It was way over the top and stereotypical of how most people not from England think an English accent sounds. If you want to hear a really good English accent by someone who isn't English hear Gwyneth Paltrow's English accent in Sliding Doors and Shakespeare in Love. That's how it should be done.[/quote]
Gwyneth really does fancy herself English though, some have reported that she has actually denounced America on several levels. I do however agree, her accent's are always impressive, whether it be Southern Texas drawl or High English speak, she does have quite the knack for mimicing accents and various inflections.

Sadly this film is not. Obviously the bathhouse scene is excellent but the way it neatly ties almost everything up is disappointing, this sadly made the final shot not half as powerful as it should have. Vincent Cassel and particularly Viggo Mortensen were excellent though.

Coming from the director of A History of Violence you cant go wrong with this movie.
This has one of the greatest fight scenes ever.

F*** yeah!
A Very strong movie, gonna buy this for sure.

This was fast...either way, amazing movie.
Uh oh, no Cronenberg commentary. This is going to have a double-dip, I just know it.
Cronenberg is.....god
